Hi, I have a Samsung washer dryer with the auto dispense function. Up until now it has been working absolutely fine but I’ve noticed that my fabric softener wasn’t loading when it should. I’ve done a drum clean, cleaned all compartments etc and still nothing. This evening I’ve run a rinse and spin to see and have no fabric softener in the machine yet the the dose indicator is showing full when it’s not! There’s also a chugging noise as if it’s trying to dispense but nothing is obviously there (this noise also happens when it was full) I’m at a loss as to what I’m to do?? Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi. I have the same (exactly!) problem!!

The gasket in foto is exactly in the same condition like mine!!

I own a WW10M86INOA/ET from 2020 and is about 4 months that no fabric softener comes out and another four months earlier that comes out with very little softener.

So the problem, I think for all of us, is that the fabric softener destroys the seal!

And Samsung doesn't sell the replacement! Is it correct?

Maybe is the replacement numbered 7-3 with the code DC61-04268A complete with the 2 seals (attach the photo) ? Can anyone say me?

Someone tried to use some special silicone to seal the part?

Any other solutions?

It's incredible that because of a gasket costing just a few cents a person has to change an entire piece costing hundreds of euros.

After I replace the entire pump, witch fabric softener I must use to avoid the problem ?

There is one product taht is tested by samsumg to avoid the seal problem ?

Which softener brand is better to use ?

We have a softener problem but kind of the opposite it just flows out because the plastic washer/clip has disappeared into the machine. Has anyone else come across this problem?

[Edit: Changed from question to answer as we have fixed ours now without any further leaks]

Machine: Series 9 WW90T986DSX

We have just had this exact same problem occur and after some searching I find this thread - adding detail below for anyone else seeing the problem.

Our dispenser was leaking the entire compartment informing us to refill even though we had just refilled it. On inspection the plastic clip and seal had come off. Luckily we found ours in the filter compartment as below. My guess is the clip becomes loose and comes off over time through normal wear.

1. Check your debris filter by following the manual to drain the water and then remove the filter, we were lucky and found both the plastic clip and rubber seal in the filter (as it is designed to capture small items)

2. Locate both plastic clip and rubber seal - note the white plastic clip has 4 openings and a half circle cut out, this is important as it will only insert in one orientation. Additionally the rubber seal is best inserted in a certain way as pictured (I tried a couple ways before it stopped leaking)

3. Use a torch on the dispenser outlet, you will find the North/East/South/West bumps, and then a 5th bump for the cut out at ~11 o'clock, this means it can only be clipped in a certain way or it won't sit flush. As pictured ours is sitting flush, and testing with some water in the compartment proving it's not leaking.

The answer to this problem is don’t buy Samsung. I’ve wasted hours on this problem with customer support with absolutely no solution. To top it off, they sent me an email saying they were glad to have helped. Even sending out an engineer for a second time was impossible. This is a design fault they refuse to take responsibility for.

Not the ideal solution but this places is offering a new pump assembly for £50

Does anyone have a guide on how to fit it?

I’ve had this problem before in 2022 when machine was still under warranty. Problem with softener not dispensing has struck again! 😡 Been on the phone today and been told bluntly it’s not under warranty - you have to pay to get it repaired! Have we to spend £160 near enough every year for repair work? Their attitude is appalling, when I said there are forums with constant messages of the auto dose softener issues her words to me were “anyone can go into forums and write anything they want” I don’t actually know where else to go with this, but something needs done!

Mine looks exactly the same as this. My machine is 18 months old now, and leaking softener straight out, the moment I pour it in.

Hi all, got similar issue. We got a WW90T684DLN/S1.

First time we had engineer around and changed the pump. Then it worked. Now it feels like it doesn't work again, laundry doesn't smell soapy fresh. There is still soap liquid inside the autodose tray, not really full level but we don't get a message either saying it's low level.

We don't use the fabric softener side.

Everyone here writes about the softener side mostly, but is it the same issue with the soap dispenser pump?

I've attached a picture of the pump side, it looks pretty clean still and the replacement pump was only done 3 months ago.

Can anyone tell me what the lower 2 circles with the green seals are and do? The bigger grey circles I believe are the dispense pump sockets?

Hi, sorry to hear you are having problems with Autodose too. My problem was on the fabric softener side, as the fabric softener was damaging the seal within the pump (you can’t see the seal looking into the drawer space, you have to take the actual pump off by removing the top of the washing machine) then you will see an oblong rubber seal. It all depends on the detergent, but like you say, most don’t have a problem on the detergent side, just the softener side.

i bought my machine in September 2020 and had a new pump fitted by Samsung in November 2021. Since then, everything has been good with very frequent use, suggesting they upgraded the seal material.

Nothing to suggest your new pump hasn’t gone faulty though. If it’s only 3 months old, is it still covered by warranty?

Hope you get it fixed, as otherwise they are great machines!
