Galaxy Watch 6 swim laps errors

Anyone else noticed that the watch 6 isn't great for recording swim laps? It adds in loads of random kickboard laps when all you're doing is resting at one end of the pool.

A recent swim of 25 laps the watch added 5 additional laps, 4 rest periods and at the end when I was getting out of the pool!

I've never had this problem with previous older versions of galaxy watches..

Yes this happens to me too! I sent my watch for service and they did something to the software and said it's ok now. But its still happening

Same here. A friend uses an Amazfit and it works perfectly 😢

Agree. terrible count. i have done 70 laps for 2300 mt and it counted only 1700. going back to my old Garmin

I am very disappointed with the Samsung Watch 6 after the update it no longer counts the laps in the pool, before the update everything worked well

It was working (mostly) for me. After latest update it is started missing laps. Interestingly enough, the speed is close to real, but ~25% of laps are missing.  If I took registered total length and divide by time total the speed would be ~75% of one in summary, if I used number of laps that I counted instead, the speed comes as in the summary. The actual lap counting was never great, but mistake was about one-two laps per 50+.

Exactly the same for me, was working mostly accuratly. But since last update there are errors.

It records 775m for 40 laps of a 50m meters length pool instead of 2km. Furthermore if I change the pool length in the watch settings, for 25m pool, it doesn't change nothing.

Same laps number same pool length.

After Samsung updates there are regressions.

Have to wait for next update.

I found third party app swim.com. It does decent lap count. Not perfect but does job for me.

I have the same exact problem. It was working great before the update but now the laps/cals counts are garbage.

Sometimes it records 1000 mt and suddenly goes down to 700 mt which is very frustrating.

Basically the watch is not usable for swimming tracking. 

Hope samsung will fix it soon.

It doesn't work properly and it is quite frustrating. For some reason it gets stuck and doesn't count laps. In a km of swimming it can skip easily 2 or 300m.
