Hello,
Ihave been playing for about 1 year on my qe50QN90a tv, with nvidia gpu on 4k 120hz with HDR + gsync with no problem, 2 days ago i got 7900XT sappire radeon graphics card.
My specs:
b450 gaming pro plus,
ryzen 9 5900x,
7900 xt gpu
32 gb ddr 4 ram ( 4x8)
Basically when I got gpu I went to test everything out and I found out that HDR isn't available in tv settings,
on Windows 10; i've enabled HDR, in game HDR is enabled,
on adrenaline software: Free sync premium pro activated, when i go to gaming mode settings or on picture settings, i can see my tv is still on SDR mode, and that HDR is not active.
I have tried reinstalling drivers completley, I have tried same method on Windows 11, I have tried setting custom resolution, using CRU and nothing works.
I have switched gpus and with Nvidia gpu tv recognises HDR instantly.
When i wanna play games on amd gpu right now, whole screen becomes dim, basically 10% of the normal brigtness HDR mode would have, and no depth to blacks is added. When i go with TV remote to check the signal input i can see " Free sync premium pro 120hz" and underneath "UHD" but there is no "HDR " icon.
I have posted same thing on amd forums but they're unable to help me with this regard,
But i have seen A lot of people posted problems with HDR on amd gpu with qn90a.
Any help would be appreciated, best regards,
Aleksander

This really is a mystery, the first method should certainly work but for some reason it's not. It's such a shame these companies charge for a premium product and then provide the worst service I have ever seen, both Samsung and AMD. It's easy enough to return something, but getting something fixed? They're literally useless...

Yeah sadly this is how it is, tv / gpu cost is about 1.5x minimum salary in my country so it actually is a lot of money.
I am hoping that new detailed post will see some attention from amd support. Anyway thankyou again for all the help, it was really helpful. I will leave topic open is somebody else will comment in the mean time.
Thanks again and i wish you well.

You are most welcome my friend, I am only sorry I could not help. I wish you the best for the future and hopefully these companies can get something done as it is basically false advertising. They should fix it or offer a full refund in my opinion.

Strangely enough I was just able to replicate your issue! It keeps going to freesync premium pro and I am panicking!

Fixed already!
I downloaded the latest AMD driver.
I downloaded the latest DDU 18.0.6 and ran it in safe mode turning off internet 1st so it doesn't automatically download display driver
Rebooted in normal mode and installed the latest AMD driver, checked in additional options factory reset.
Restarted again after installation when asked.
Removed all hidden monitor from device manager and used my old method again, worked 1st time!

oh, be sure to disable internet before running ddu or windows will auto install another display driver which causes issues with amd new 1
