Hello,
Ihave been playing for about 1 year on my qe50QN90a tv, with nvidia gpu on 4k 120hz with HDR + gsync with no problem, 2 days ago i got 7900XT sappire radeon graphics card.
My specs:
b450 gaming pro plus,
ryzen 9 5900x,
7900 xt gpu
32 gb ddr 4 ram ( 4x8)
Basically when I got gpu I went to test everything out and I found out that HDR isn't available in tv settings,
on Windows 10; i've enabled HDR, in game HDR is enabled,
on adrenaline software: Free sync premium pro activated, when i go to gaming mode settings or on picture settings, i can see my tv is still on SDR mode, and that HDR is not active.
I have tried reinstalling drivers completley, I have tried same method on Windows 11, I have tried setting custom resolution, using CRU and nothing works.
I have switched gpus and with Nvidia gpu tv recognises HDR instantly.
When i wanna play games on amd gpu right now, whole screen becomes dim, basically 10% of the normal brigtness HDR mode would have, and no depth to blacks is added. When i go with TV remote to check the signal input i can see " Free sync premium pro 120hz" and underneath "UHD" but there is no "HDR " icon.
I have posted same thing on amd forums but they're unable to help me with this regard,
But i have seen A lot of people posted problems with HDR on amd gpu with qn90a.
Any help would be appreciated, best regards,
Aleksander

That is right the monitor edid profile should be the same until you import the saved file. Once you do that it should be different. The only difference is the latest driver is different between 7000 and 6000 series gpu as 6000 series do not get update since november. Still I can not imagine this making any difference. I am at a loss as to why this is not working for you. I can consistently repeat this with good result so I am confused why your set up is not behaving the same.

Could you send a screen shoot of edid profile settings after you import saved file? I am also confused and exausted, to be honest ever since i got this gpu I did more fixing than playing games 🤣
I just though it might be something with GPUsince i only tried CRU method on my gpu and not on other 2 gpu's ive tested and its only part that we got diffrent...

I can not think of anything else to do, it seems something must be different with your tv. Are you sure you left the freesync range blank inside the 'hdmi 2.xx' section of cru and that your tv says PC in sources?

When im in game mode ON, and check EDID of "hdmi 2.1 " - section it says 48 - 120 , but on my import settings file that i saved on my desktop ( numerous times) all of them have this space of "hdmi 2.1" - section : free sync BLANK.
I have tried also using port 3 on TV, and taking hdmi out of port 4 then enabled input signal and put hdmi back in port 4.
I would like just to ask;
- is your TV 50" version by any chance?
I have put detailed post on amd forums in hopes of help there also.

Sadly I don't know what to do anymore as i cannot get only Free sync premium to work, so i turned again to technical support of amd and samsung in hope of fix.
I would just like thank you for going out of your way and taking time to help me, it was very much appreciated. I deeply hope people in future that have this problem see our topic and have luck with the fix.
Best regards,
Aleksander.

I have the 50" version of the tv, yes. It's the QN90A model, not the later QN94A. The last thing I would suggest to try is to clear the freesync range in the "hdmi 2.xx" section when you are in freesync premium pro mode and add a separate freesync section as we did for the edid before. It's because freesync is detected in that section that it triggers freesync premium pro. Then export that, click ok. Open cru again and import it then click ok again and again so cru is closed. Now run restart64.

I have tried doing steps mentioned above but still doesnt work. funny enough when checking edid of gaming mode i have both free sync range and free sync range of hdmi 2.1 section as seen in photo i attached to message.
I have tried only deleting the 48-120 range from hdmi 2.1 section and using restart but didn't work, even after using saved setting. gamemode on - original EDID
I don't really know what to do we have exact same settings on all of EDID
Only thing different on my original settings and saved ones is free sync block size my edid
