Z fold 5 and new FB UI.

Opened FB on my fold 5 this morning and saw that the menu / navigation bar was down the side rather than across the top as it was previously.

As users of a Z fold phone will know, the front screen is narrow enough as it is but this new FB UI just squeezes the view even more to the point that using FB on the front screen is impossible. 

I've googled it and gone through all the settings but can't find any way of moving it back. 

Has anyone else encountered this and does anyone know if it is possible to move the bar back to the top?

That only works for a min.  Each time the app is opened in the unfolded position FB is completely unusable. That and the menus being on the side are the issue.  Seems like an FB problem with the app

as long as you don't restart your phone or close recent open apps then you be alright.
but if you do restart or close recent apps then you have to do the method I mentioned above earlier.

I'm using Facebook lite as it looks similar. Heaven forbid they fix something for their really expensive handsets 🤔😠

Same thing. Then it blanks out and shrinks to the top if you touch it. If I open the larger screen and close it back, FB looks normal and the menu bar is in the correct place, on the front screen. No long term solution yet tho.

I'm having the same issue on my Fold 5 and also one more issue. If I open the app from main screen directly it starts flickering like blinking app. I've uninstalled and installed twice. So frustrating. Also on Instagram instead of reels showing in the middle it has been moved to left side. So annoying and frustrating after the UI update. Thankfully phone has gotten even faster but the social media issue is annoying. I hope there will be a fix soon to this from @samsung

The opening on the large screen and then closing doesn't work for me! So frustrating is it a sumsung issue or facebook?

This might just send me back to an iPhone!

this is facebook issue, they have to update they apps for capable with the fold, all social media apps are slow at update their apps.
and if the apple iphone do have the fold phone its will be the same issue that we're having,.
as if iphone have a fold phone

Hey all!

If you're only experiencing this issue with a select few apps, it could be an app compatibility issue. We'd definitely advise reaching out to Facebook/Meta regarding this, as they may need to update the apps.
