Unwanted Google news screen

How do I get rid of the Google news screen which often appears when I don't expect or want it - also by swiping right on my Home screen? I have closed all apps but I can't get rid of it. Thanks.

Settings, home screen, disable add media page to home screen

Long press the home screen > toggle media page off
