Secure folder doesn't autolock upon exit (Fold 7 / UI 8)

Hi all. New Fold 7 owner. When I exit Secure Folder back to home, I can reenter it without having to reauthenticate. Anybody who picked up my phone could just get straight into secure folder. I can find no setting to require reauthenticatation after leaving secure folder. On my Fold 5, it locked automatically after exiting. This issue completely compromises the security of a secure folder. It isn't practical to manually lock it every time before exiting since I frequently switch between apps inside and out of secure folder. Am I missing something or is this another Samsung issue?

EDIT I've just checked on my fold 5 and I can see that in the "auto lock secure folder"part of settings, on fold 5 you can set it to lock each time you leave an app whereas on fold 7 that option is no longer available... meaning that when you leave secure folder or an app, you or anybody on your fold 7 can get straight back into secure folder unless you have remember to manually lock it. This really is moronic and makes no sense at all. It won't be possible to remember to manually lock secure folder on the phone where you are constantly multitasking and it's only makes life harder and make the phone less secure. Please tell me it has been moved somewhere else but it really looks like the usual utterly moronic Samsung shenanigans. Assume this pointless stupid and unwelcome change is a feature of the updated software. Sorry for sounding so negative but this sort of thing is endlessly disappointing

It's a long window. Until you consciously lock Secure Folder, it's left wide open. And phones are regularly snatched when on the move or even sitting down. Secure folder is meant to be a home for your most sensitive or confidential data and Samsung has just made it much less secure. Removing an existing setting that automatically secures your data is plainly and simply moronic.

On home screen
Tap on secure Folder
Settings
Tap on the three dots
Lock on exit

Here's how to enable auto-lock:

Open Secure Folder: Locate and open the Secure Folder app on your device.

Access Settings: Tap the three dots (More options) within Secure Folder, then tap on "Settings".

Locate Auto-Lock Settings: Find and tap on "Auto lock Secure Folder".

Choose Auto-Lock Option: Select "Each time I leave an app" to ensure it locks immediately when you exit.

To enable Samsung's Secure Folder and set a lock on it on a device running Android 8 (Oreo), navigate to Settings > Biometrics and security > Secure Folder. Then, follow the prompts to sign into or create a Samsung account, and choose your preferred lock method (pattern, PIN, or password) and set it up.

I am on Android version 16 running Samsung One UI version 8. It now seems definitively clear that the missing setting I need to lock the folder "each time you leave an app" has been removed by Samsung on on UI 8 (or at least on fold 7),making Secure Folder much less secure. This setting was present on one UI 7. I had been hoping that I was overlooking something and perhaps it had been moved to a different part of the settings which is why I messaged this forum but unfortunately this does not seem to be the case. The OP has consistently told you that the secure folder lock no longer works on exit. Others like myself have confirmed this.

Is it a glitch?

Will it be fixed on next beta or stable? We don't know.

But it isn't working and the solutions you are giving are not working. 🙏
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

Yes I agree that we need that feature back ASAP, I just migrated from Fold 6 to Fold 7 and was surprised that option to autolock after closing an app has disappeared as well.

It's like Samsung devs are too stoned to work on important stuff
Now my secure folder stays wide open and unlocked unless I remember to close it manually. Samsung are morons
