Secure Folder requires Phone Security now?

My personal choice is to keep my phone in swipe mode to unlock it. I don't feel I need the extra security because my phone is always on my person. I enjoyed having a password or security on my Secure Folder because it protects my files. But now it seems that I have to have two forms of security in order to use the Secure Folder. This is completely counter productive. Also it appears that you have for whatever reason removed the ability for Secure Folder to lock itself when leaving the application. You can jump back in and out as long as you haven't locked the screen. Again, this negates the whole idea and concept of security. Please tell me that this will be remedied in the next update. Soon. Also I have been on Reddit quite a bit. I am not the only one having this problem. It appears to be a software choice.

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community!

The change to Secure Folder not immediately locking was due to complaints about it locking as soon as you left it. It seems there are two sides to the same coin, and people are unhappy either way.

In terms of the Secure Folder password, I only need to enter a PIN, and that's it. Unless im misunderstanding what you mean

Anyways, this forum isn't monitored by Samsung, but only customers. Be sure to go to the Samsung Members app, then Support, then Feedback.

I understand that Secure Folder requires a Screen Lock of some kind but now it requires that on the actual PHONE as well. You have to have two sets of security now. One to unlock your phone and the other to unlock Secure Folder. Before you only had to do that for Secure Folder. That is my main complaint.

Same here - for me it seems to be a kind of bug - anyway I want the old behavior back from my S24 ultra. In the past I had the simple swipe to "unlock" my phone and the secure folder was secured by PIN. Now - if I only apply the PIN to the secure folder it as well locks my whole phone. In order to get there now I have phone security (PIN) and secure folder with PIN. I can change the phone security to whatever - ok - but disabling it leads to the point where when you access the secure folder you have to set a PIN again - enabling phone security although you are just setting the secure folder security.

Please fix the unnecessary "feature" or the bug enabling phone security when setting secure folder ...

Thanks.

I have send a feedback to Samsung throughout the members app ... will see if they ever reply ...
