Samsung Z flip 7 trade-in experience.

Samsung partners for trade in are terrible. I tried to trade-in my old Z flip 5 which was in perfect condition with normal wear and tear and it satisfied all the conditions on the website they mention when applying for trade in.

Then few days later the trade in they ask for £150 for "frame damage". Really Samsung???

The thing is, I also had an active Samsung Care package on the device for which when I asked for repair this isn't even considered as a "accidental damage" to be repaired.

At this point I feel it is just way for the third party vendors that Samsung hires to just get as much money from customer as possible highlighting anything that is not perfect.

I have been a loyal Samsung customer for 10 years. But I think this will be my last device.

To say your device was in "perfect condition" with normal wear and tear..... sorry no. It is either perfect (new) or wear and tear.

Whilst I'm sure your view of your device is accurate, fact is that a two year old device can have damage that can't be seen by the naked eye. We also drop our devices more than we realise.

Samsung have very clever software in their devices which recognises when devices are dropped, knocked or otherwise take a light hit.

You can ask the recycling team to review but their decision is final.

Agree with @Piper123 and as a ZFLIP 3,4,5,5 and 7 user that plastic surround looks damaged or a bodged repair.

If its any consolation I got pineappled on my ZFOLD4 for a scratch on the corner but that was a repair not a trade in.

I also traded in a z fold 5 which had the usual wear and tear including some scratches to the frame after 2 years use, but met the standard working order conditions and sent back in the original box.
I received the exact same email from the trade in team requesting £150 payment for "frame damage" and was sent an image almost identical to yours but it was less clear. I asked them to send me a better photo and tried to raise it with samsung care but no one was interested. Very disappointed as I have traded other devices without an issue.
