"Call ended" before it's started

After updating my Flip6 to UI7, I can't make any calls. Whenever I try, the contact's dial-out window launches with the words "call ended" across the top. I can receive calls OK. Any ideas?

Is this all numbers you try call?

Every number - including my own land line. I have power cycled which didn't help. I tried using wi-fi as well as my network and that didn't help either.

I use a PAYG sim card and so I also checked that I have some credit on it, which I do.

I understand this happend after the update but do want to cut some variables- are you able to test in another device?

Thanks for your help but I have wasted your time. I checked my PAYG sim card credit just before the UI7 update but now see that this software update cost me £6 in data charges which wiped me out. Can I get big updates over wi-fi? It seems wasteful to use up my sim card data when I have gigabit fibre wi-fi everywhere.

I have now topped up my PAYG card and can make calls again.

Hi! Go to settings- software update- auto download and change to wifi only
