Linux Terminal still not working on stable One UI 8

This topic has been addressed in a few threads during the Beta testing phase but there was no reply until the official release, which has already occurred. My S25 Ultra just got the One UI 8 update and the Linux Terminal still cannot get virtualization access.

I am aware this happens only on Qualcomm devices like mine but I was under the impression the Elite SoC supports this as per Google's requirements and the conflict is with Samsung Knox that Samsung has to address to work. Will this happen with any hot fixes or any workarounds for people that need this very useful native solution?

Edit: I just realized I posted this in the Z Fold forum, a device for which this functions as it is running an Exynos. Can this be moved to the S25 series forum, or in a general Qualcomm / Knox / tech issues section?

It is listed as experimental and stuff. Though I'd possibly put blame more on google. Look at the error, "non protected vms are not supported". So samsung probably supports protected vms.

There's probably a deeper reason but shouldn't the terminal be using a more secure vm. And on samsung's end, why would they support less secure things when they support the secure version.

At the moment Samsung doesn't support Android Virtualization Framework (AVF) which is why the Linux terminal doesn't work so Samsung would need to address this by adding support for AVF to allow us to gain functionality. I really hope they do I've been testing it on my old pixel is it's really fun to play around with

That is not correct, AVF is mandatory to support in Android 16. The Linux Terminal also works fine on the Galaxy Tab 11 so this is clearly a problem specific to the S25 Ultra.

There would be no point in even enabling the option if Samsung did not support AVF at all.

Mostly correct - the Galaxy Tabs use Dimensity SoCs now, some Folds are using Exynos. The problem is specific to Samsung (Knox being the culprit) + Qualcomm's SoCs on all Samsung devices currently running Snapdragons. I am not sure about all other Qualcomm Android 16 devices, but I assume they support the unprotected VM.
