Issue with a Software Update Samsung Flip 4 (April 2024)

Be careful with an April update.

Right after this update (not after a few hours, days or weeks) my Flip 4 stopped working in a proper way. Every time I fold or unfold my phone it's totally shutting down. Folding feature still works only when my phone is connected to the charger.

So, now I have 2 options: to use my phone only in an unfolded state or to carry a power bank always connected to my phone.

Bisher habe ich über diesen Fehler in der Community noch nichts gelesen, hast Du diesen denn einmal per Samsung Members unter Support als Fehlerbericht gemeldet?

Yes (at least I hope so, because it's not so easy to find a right place to submit an issue), and I've even received a standard reply from first line support hotline@email.support.samsung.com with a recommendation to make a factory reset.

Oh gosh that's terrible 😢 I wish I knew how to help but I don't.But maybe someone else can help here
Just be patient and wait ️ it's weekend they sure will Answer 👍

I have looked at your error report and cannot find any identical errors on the Internet. None in the U.S. or Korea. It seems to be something completely new. No one will be able to help you here, only users are online here. Only support will help you. You can reach support by phone at

Maybe you can still make a 'wipe cache' ... If the error is a copy error.

Have you tried the following after the last system update? Could be helpful. ✌️ 😃

The final step, which should also be carried out after every system update/initial setup, would be to run the options “Wipe Cache Partition” and then “Repair Apps” in recovery mode.

To do this, switch off the smartphone. Connect to the running PC/notebook/game console/USB connection TV using a USB-C cable.

Simultaneously press and hold the power button and the volume up buttons on the smartphone until the logo appears and recovery mode starts.

There select the options above. Control with the volume up and down buttons and select and confirm execution with the power button.

With these measures you can remove junk data from your smartphone that can lead to malfunctions.

Care should be taken when executing these functions as an incorrect option may result in data loss.

Mein Sohn hat auch das Update auf dem Flip 4 und hat das Problem nicht.
