Galaxy Z Flip screen issues - refusal to repair

Hi Samsung community,

Is it normal for network companies or Samsung to refuse to repair phones that are still under warranty?

My Galaxy Z flip 5G screen stopped working around the fold of the phone, the top layer of the screen is good as new, but there is a black band across the middle of the screen, so it's unusable. It looks like many other people have had the same issue, or similar where the screen cracks,  but when we took it into EE, having sent it off they then said it can't be repaired under warranty because of some scuffs on the outer casing (the usual amount for a phone that goes in a bag most days for 4 months, and nothing on the screen itself). I know I haven't damaged the screen at all - it's clearly a recurring fault with the phone, so why won't they repair a 4-month old defective screen? How often does this happen? And why do they ignore the Consumer Rights Act 2015?

TIA

I'm in the same exact predicament.  The repair shops called UbreakIfix refuses to fix my screen because of a minor, I mean minor, scratch on the back of my 8 month old Flip 5.  They deem it as "physical damage"  rendering my phone to be out of warranty.  Which is absolutely ridiculous I've never dropped my phone, AND it's in a solid protective case.  It's very obvious the scratch is from rubbing something and not a strong impact.

There needs to be a  Class Action suit of some sort because this is clearly a common consumer issue with the Galaxy Flips, in which Samsung is aware of.  Even the techs at the Repair stores said this!

Hi just had the same issue. Phone screen got a red line across and became unresponsive. Got it sent away they admit themselves there is no damage to the phone but there is some indentations under the screen so they will not repair. We have received the phone back there now looks to be moisture under the screen and a big black line around 15mm tall. When contacting Samsung they are now saying that was the damage the engineer has report and are refusing to repair under warrenty. In my opinion the flip phones are not made well enough and samsung should be repairing there faulty phone and not charging £314 to repair something that was not built to last

I had the same problem. I went for repairs today, and they refused to repair it, advising me to take out insurance and return to repair. It's a kind of fraud.

Got the exact same problem. Used the phone one evening, woke up the next day and the screen had lines running  down the side. Eventually the screen packed up altogether. No problem I thought, it's still under warranty. Took loads of photo's as there isn't 1 single scratch or mark on the phone. Got an email back the following day saying they wanted nearly 300 quid to repair it as it had signs of impact damage. It has never been out of a protective case and never been dropped or knocked. I will never buy Samsung again. I'm currently looking at new OLED tvs but it definitely won't t be a samsung one.
