I owned this phone for about a month. After an update, there were a few glitches on my inside screen and then it turned black. Outside screen still worked. After multiple calls, best thing to do was send it in for repairs as it was still under warranty. Sent the phone in, recieved a change in repair charge.
Samsung tried to charge $345 to repair because it was "out of warranty due to damage". Phone is brand new, no scratches. I called to dispute. The techs who work on the phone don't have a phone number so you have to sit on hold to be transferred. After 5 attempted calls, endless hours of being on hold, the calls were "dropped" and I couldn't make it through.
Cut to 5 days later, actively on a call with Samsung and they sent over an email saying they're sending back my phone unrepaired. No reasons as to why.
Got my phone back a day later. Unrepaired, factory reset, unable to use my front screen anymore to at least make and or receive calls.
How can I get this fixed without having to send my phone back to the same place? I don't live near any service centers. They obviously have no interest in actually putting calls through and getting things figured out. Again, this is a brand new phone. I don't understand how they're getting away with this as I've seen multiple forums with the same thing happening after said update.

Hello @DustyPotato and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum Section for Uk and Eu Members App 👋
I'm disheartened to hear that you are experiencing these issues with your phone 😔
I note you have used $ to show how much the charge to repair would be.
If your not in the UK / Eu then I would suggest to also submit your post in your own regions section, so that you recieve a more specific reply as consumer laws / Manufacturer's Warranty might be different where you reside.
In the UK Samsung apply a Limited 2 Year Manufacturer's Warranty that covers most issues that can arise, apart from accidental damage.
Unless samsung Care+ has been purchased as an add on.
If a phone fails within two weeks then Samsung would arrange a swap if the phone was purchased directly from them.
If the phone was purchased elsewhere then the merchant i.e business who sold the phone has a Duty of Care under the consumer acts in the UK to prove support.
This Samsung Community Forum is not another avenue of Samsung Customer Services.
This is predominantly a place for user - to - user discussion.
For this type of support that you require a person would need to continue to contact Samsung directly.
There shouid be phone numbers and emails you can use to create a paper trail of contact.
I would also suggest to check the Manufacturer's Warranty period in your country, and any consumer laws / acts that are in place to protect both the consumer and merchant alike.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎

I am having this same exact problem. They know of this issue and are trying to make the customer pay for a manufacturing issue. It's ridiculous. i refuse to pay that charge. Samsung is trying to rip us off. Did you find a solution?

Samsung never did anything for me. I ended up filing a claim through my carrier (at&t) since it was still under warranty and they replaced my phone for free. You just have to send it in and be without a phone for a week.
