Fold Screen crash.

I've had my fold 4 for around a year now. I have absolutely loved this phone, especially the huge fold screen which I use to watch everything and play games. That was until it started to crash. All my games and videos work fine when using the small outer screen and my fold screen works fine with everything else until I either play a game or a video and it cuts out with a static noise and screen shuts off. I then need to soft reset the phone with the volume + lock buttons and as long as my phone stays closed my phone will come on as per normal and work completely fine until I play something through the fold screen. I feel I'm now stuck with a very chunky phone that can't use it's fold screen for the next 2 years. Any tips?

This same issue started happening to me today. Worked fine as usual all morning and then in the afternoon, it started going wrong.

Specifically, I would unlock my phone folded, using the outside screen. No apps open. When I unfold, literally a blank screen. I thought I must have used the extra dim feature and accidentally turned the brightness level all the way down. It wasn't that. Pressed the power button a few times and no reaction in the screen. I'm now in disbelief.

Then when I fold the screen I found the whole phone unresponsive. Just blank. After around 30 seconds to a minute the front screen suddenly springs to life and when I unlock the device I can see widgets etc. reloading on my homepage just as it would when you restart the phone. Except I know it didnt restart as it was too quick.

The phone basically crashes and this has been happening since. I thought the device might need a software update so I checked and I then updated it to One UI version 6.0.

Proceeding this install, the issue still occurs in the same way.

I am gutted this is the state of Samsung and I eagerly got this device as soon as it got released.

I do not think it is a software issue. This expensive brick didn't even last the duration on my 2 year contract!

I have experienced the exact same problem. Turned in the phone for repair under warranty. I just received the service sheet with the repairs. Can't believe my eyes what they replaced to repair the phone: battery, housing, display, motherboard, subboard and some small stuff.

Were this to happen outside warranty, it would be quite expensive, I reckon.

Already had to replace the protective cover of the inside screen after a year. Guess they don't make those expensive phones to last long.
