Hello,

I'm not doing every update as soon as they get out and few days ago a updated my phone. There was 2 updates I believe one for may and one for June.

Since those 2 updates, my front screen is not "waking up". It still works, I know that because for example if I open the main screen then close the phone without locking it the front display works fine.

But as soon as I lock it, screen go black (normal) . Then when I want to unlock it, I can feel it unlocks (vibrate) but the screen stays black. I have to fully open my fold4 to see something which is pretty annoying.

Of course no fall or any event, every day use as I always did nothing changed except for the update. And the screen does work so I believe it's more a problem of software than hardware.

Anybody got the same issue? Can I somehow go back to prior update to check out or something?

Hello @Members_352BUTr

Once a software update has been downloaded and accepted ,then there is no way of rolling that back via the phone's native settings.

There are other ways to rollback however a person needs to be fully aware in what they are doing, and also be aware that if this goes wrong a very unstable phone can be the outcome, to which Samsung would then probably charge to put right.

See xdadevelopers.com for more information at your own risk of course.

Other options you can try are >

  • Soft reboot by turning the phone Off and On.
  • Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }
  • Back up and factory reset as a very last resort.
  • Send feedback via your Samsung Members App.
  • Let a Samsung Service Centre have hands on.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I found a temporary solution. Temporary because it doesn't work 24/7 but I activated always on display.

It works 50-75% of the time. The rest of the time always on display don't even display and so I get back to my main problem, screen not displaying.

same exact issue, same exact phone.  tried to remedy this through various means -- wipe cache partition, turn on always on display, update One UI Home app, disable finger print unlock, disable facial unlock, etc etc... none works permanently.  and that's within the context of no physical damage as well -- just happened after the recent updates.  samsung, please fix your s#hit instead of telling me to spend more money and trade up to the Fold 6 (if anything, I will never "experiment" with samsung products again if this type of rudimentary issues are the norm for the brand)
