I cannot turn off my navigation bar at all on my s8

The navigation bar button is always this light blue

I've also tried going to settings, but theres also nothing to turn off the navigation bar either. I've had this phone for a while and I've used it without the navigation bar and not being able to turn it off is really frustrating.

You can't fully turn off the navigation bar, but you can change its style.

Head to: Settings > Display > Navigation Bar.
