Why isn't there a setting to schedule work profile on/off?

Hi everyone,

I’m curious to know if anyone else is frustrated by the lack of an option to schedule the Work Profile on Samsung devices. As far as I know, this feature has been a standard part of Android since version 9, yet Samsung doesn't seem to have implemented it for their devices.

It would be incredibly useful to automatically toggle the Work Profile on or off based on a set schedule—like having it enabled during work hours and disabled after hours. Currently, I have to manually turn it on and off, which can get a bit tedious.

Has anyone found a workaround for this, or is there any indication that Samsung might eventually add this feature to their devices?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I'm sure it does however that's not the work profile meant here. See

Sorry, I misunderstood your original question and believed it was just the modes and routines you were asking about.

Nothing to be sorry about. On the contrary, it is good to participate with pure intention

Indeed, what I am referring to is not Samsung's implementation of 'Work Mode,' but instead the Android Work Profile. Here's how the scheduling is baked into original Android, a feature that Samsung has specifically removed.

I have a work routine set that works just fine.

What part is not working for you?

See the link I posted above and it should be clear that we're talking about two different things.

The Android Work Profile is aimed at separating work from personal data and enforcing enterprise-level security, with a strong focus on security, app management, and remote control by IT departments. It’s designed for corporate environments where the company needs to manage devices securely. Scheduling this can allow users to switch off all work apps from running in the background and sending notifications outside work hours.

Samsung Modes and Routines, on the other hand, are designed for personal use. They let users automate device settings based on specific conditions and allow users to trigger actions like launching certain apps or changing settings based on context, but they don't isolate data like the Work Profile does.

In short, Work Profile is about managing work data securely and separating it from personal information, while Modes and Routines is about personal convenience, automation, and adjusting your device’s behavior based on time or circumstances.
