How come we get free ear buds worth "£169" in the UK with S25 pre orders - but they've been giving away the Pro version since last year - and they are currently selling them for $69 in the US?

Edited due to my poor spelling! I was half asleep when I originally posted this.

UK has always been the poor relation with big companies compared to the US. Also bigger markets mean they can shift the kind of quantities to still make profits. But I agree it does seem some areas are treated more favourably. Plus they have to off load their surplus stocks somewhere.

Quite a lot of these offers arre subsidised by network providers.
Over there you get a phone as part of an upgrade etc.
Also don't forget they pay state taxes on top of those prices.
Our market here is very different

They were giving the Pro version of the buds out for free here if you left a review when I got my S24 Ultra! I missed the deadline.

Just think its a bit of a con saying you get a free pair of buds worth 169 pounds, when they're not £169 most places anymore.

Also remember prices in the US don't show sales taxes which can add up to 25% on top.

That said, had I seen the Watch Ultra for $304 (about £240) I might have been tempted

Do we get the worse deals? I got over £1k off of my S25 Ultra 1Tb and the free buds 3 are in there. Plus I get a free duo charger and case once I leave the review. I think our discounts are pretty good in the UK once you know how to purchase. Also, the buds 3 and buds 3 pro give away is down to how much stock they have that they need to clear out. Some networks are offering the buds 3 pro in the UK.1738066849187.jpg

Some networks are yeah. I don't think the deal with Samsung at the moment is bad at all - I could get the S25 Ultra 512gb with free earbuds, a free case and wireless charger for leaving a review - for £525 with the added credit I have from my last phone.
Really that's a brilliant deal 👌

My mate works for BT/EE and they get staff 40% off before trade in - he just pointed out that the same deal in America you get the Buds Pro 3 included.

And then sent me a load of photos from the various discussions on their work board about the deal available in other countries.

Samsung have actually taken my free air buds out of my basket as last night was the cut off - but other providers it's a redeemable code.

Looking on Reddit, some of the promotions in America just seem a LOT more competitive than over here...IMG-20250127-WA0038_1000042351_1738067285.jpg

And the majority of the savings is trade-in value - which is much less than the phone would be sold second hand. Easier and more simple - but if you've paid £1300 for a phone, getting a £600 discount, isn't really a discount, it's just saving the hassle of selling it privately for a few hundred more and using that towards the price of the new handset.

There's a lot of posts about the US like this - $379 wouldn't be bad!IMG-20250128-WA0066_1000042419_1738087762.jpg
