What is the best text messaging app to use on S25 ultra? Samsung text messaging app or Google text messaging app?

I'm saying google messages. It uses a more standard software for RCS making it more compatible and updated. Samsung messages kinda came first so uses a custom version of RCS samsung keeps up to date. They might have swapped to the google RCS software within it but I don't know. Samsung has tried to move users to google messages for the past few years though. Very recently it's kinda come back so maybe they're kinda rebooting it? Idk

Samsung messages is "samsungy" and matches the rest of the phone. Google messages has more features and will probably get more constant updates

I use Google messages mostly as it has more functionality but I think samsung messages it's more stable. When it comes to contacts I prefer samsung for creating and saving new contacts but use google as my default for viewing them as I had a few spells after updates where contacts disappeared, not sure what caused it. As a general principle the stock apps usually perform better with the exception of Google messages which seems more modern and greater functionality

It depends on. Preference, I have used Samsung Mesages predominantly though as prefer the design. Whilst it had not been given priority seems more investment in it lately.  Google Messages though may be better for RCS., I use whatsapp a fair bit though. Samsung Messages has the only advantage that you can choose a different background for each contact. The disadvantage is that if your mobile carrier doesn't support chat, you won't have RCS capabilities like Google Messages.

In Google Messages you also have a special chat - chat with Gemini.🙃

Samsung messages for me.....because I'm old and hate change!!!
