Super Fast Charging issues with the S25 Ultra

Ive started having issues with super fast charging on my s25 ultra.

When plugged into normal speed charger, USB C port works when inserted either way.

However when using a super fast charging plug, the USB C works one way (but only with slow speed charging) and not the other.

I dont think theres anything in the port, its sounds like it may not be hardware. So has anyone else had a similar situation that might be able to educate me on what the problem could be?

Which charging brick are you using and which cable are you using?

It sounds like an issue with the cable or wall brick. There is a known problem with 5a cables and also with some bricks. But your issue is new to me

See this is what I thought, so I bought a new wall brick (3rd Party, but good reviews) however it has made little to no difference.

Cable is an official out of the box samsung cable so if it isn't the plug (plus my old plug worked well till probably the last few days) im not quite sure what it could be.

Potentially something hardware related after all maybe? That's the only other thing I can think of

For known problems.

Using a 3a cable on third party chargers can cause issues with super fast charge 2.0. I've personally seen that happen.

The solution is using a 5a cable.

Using a 5a cable on the official 45w charger. This can cause general charge issues and heating.

Solution is using a 3a cable instead.

The s25 series has 2 charge modes. Third party chargers sometimes get confused when given 2 options. The phone itself sometimes gets confused too on the official charger.

10v 4.5a is the traditional mode. It needs a 5a rated cable.

15v 3a is the new second mode, it's the same speed but less heat. Some third party chargers don't like this mode. If this happens, a 5a rated cable will usually make the phone use 10v, the mode that usually works more on non official chargers

When using a 5a cable on the official charger, the phone can use either mode, and it gets indecisive and can't pick. Thats why the fix is to use a 3a cable, it forces the 15v mode.

I'm also facing the same issue. First, I thought it was an adapter issue, then I went to the shop and tried every adapter and cable, and it still isn't working. It shows "super fast 2.0 charging," but it never works.

You don't need to use a 5a cable anymore on Samsung 45w charging brick. A regular USB C to USB C gives you super fast charge 2.0

But sounds like a dodgy cable

I dont know im just really confused by it. It does seem to be charging relatively quickly though on second look and there is now a Troubleshoot on the samsung website that states that since the new update super fast charging from third party chargers will still work but not show the fast charging indicator.

Im going to try and get in touch with samsung today. My phones under warranty and samsung care+ speed doesn't hurt to make sure its working as intended🤣

I have the exact same problem. Tried 8 different chargers, 10 different cables. Car chargers, wall chargers and external battery (with super fast charging 2, samsung battery). In one way will charge with super fast charging 2, I turn the cable, will be normal charghing.

With some of them it will show super fast charging 2 on both sides.. but when you check with an app how fast it charges.. you will see like 2W..

I think it may be related with the latest OS update.. I ordered a charger port to see if it's the port.. as Samsung said 5-7 days to get the phone back from repair and they need to factory reset it.. like.. why did you add the Maintanance mode.. if they still need to reset the phone... so I will just ditch the warranty and fix it, myself.

Same issue here! I've used 6 different chargers, including the one that came with my phone, and I have to flip the USBs for them to work. Regardless of which cable I plug in, they'll all only work in specific orientations. It seems to be an issue with the June 1st update. I only started having this issue with my S25+ after I updated to that a week or so ago.

Im seeing a lot of people begin to say similar now... that it might be linked to an OS update. But have samsung recognised that yet. After all they can't fix a bug they dont think exists right?🤣
