iOS style scrolling: Just to clarify on previous posts, that what I meant is great about iOS scrolling is that any scrolled content comes to a very 'slow stop'. This very slow stop is the scrolling smoothness that I'm referring to and has always been missing from the Samsung experience (One UI).

Hello beautiful Samsung users and One UI developers, I have another idea to share with everyone...

Feature request: Spotlight feature (screenshot captures + S Pen)

For users who love to capture screenshots on their Samsung device, wouldn't be great if we had a 'Draw Spotlight' feature which could be used to highlight areas of a screenshot image using lighting and blurs.

==========

Windows and Mac OS applications such as XnView MP or SnagIt are examples that have this feature.

Feature request: Expanded 'Read Aloud' Voice speech across One UI

I personally don't use Bixby or any of the smart assistants however I'm a great fan of the feature "Read time and alarm name aloud" found in the Clock app under ringtone selection.

So it would be great if this same ("Read time and alarm name aloud") was expanded to more areas across One UI.

How about starting with the countdown timer, wouldn't it be cool if once the timer elapses to the last 1 minute we then get a voice alert stating this.

How about voice speech for length of time spent on your phone or critical remaining battery left.

Calendar reminders read out loud. More.

For the supporting reply to suggestions for Countdown Timer in One UI (Clock app) including the suggestion of a 3D carousel display like iOS...

... SwitchBot app on Android features a timer input that uses the 3D carousel effect. It would be a little more polished if the non-focussed number digits were more faded.

Attached animed pic of SwitchBot app:

One UI request: Support for APNG file format

APNG (animated PNG) is a file format developed by a developer for Mozilla Firefox. It is the beefed up upgrade over animated GIF as animated GIF being much older have limitations.

I am surprised that Android OS or the Samsung One UI on top of Android does not support this openly free file format of APNG. Many of today's popular web browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari natively SUPPORT displaying APNG in full animation.

Dearest Samsung One UI team, please support this format for the One UI Gallery app, One UI file manager and throughout all the system and feed this back to Android devs.

Request: Screen prompt (choice) to temporarily suspend connected Bluetooth device when making a phone call.

Currently when I make a phone call, I raise the phone to my head with my Bluetooth headphones already removed from my ears. Understandably my Samsung phone does not know that I've removed the headphones from my ears.

It would be nice if a prompt message (Do you wish to suspend connected Bluetooth device?) could appear in the middle of the screen whenever a Bluetooth device is still connected at the moment I hit the call button.

What happens is that I toggle off the Bluetooth in One UI but then the Bluetooth automatically toggles itself back on.

One UI request: User ability to enforce Good Lock's SHARE menu (share sheet) to any and all apps

The Share menu found in Good Lock's "Home Up" plugin is the best Share menu I've ever used. The Good Lock 'Share menu' of Home Up is dynamic by allowing custom order or most used apps at the forefront of the Share menu.

Some older apps but even some modern but non-compliant apps still adopt there own (often janky) Share menu that keeps their own fixed list order of apps in the Share sheet.

It's a shame that Android still allows apps to specify their own Share menu, often leading to fragmentation in this area of the system.

Feature request for the Phone App:

As a long-time Pixel user, I miss the "Hold for Me" feature that would listen to hold music and let me know when someone started talking.

With Samsung pushing hard for AI stuff, this would be a very useful feature to have.

I'm using One UI 7 and have some advice about Quick Panel.

1. Allow a separate layout customization for landscape mode.

2. Let users separate linked toggles like Nearby Device & SmartThings, Smart View & Modes, and WiFi & Bluetooth, so they can be moved independently. Also, adding an option to hide any toggle would be great.

3. When the Quick Panel has two rows of expandable button list, all buttons fit the screen perfectly, but when a VPN is connected, a small text appears at the bottom, making the panel slightly scrollable though I don't at all need to scroll to see the whole thing. This causes an extra swipe to close the Quick Panel. It would be better if the panel stayed fixed or if Good Lock could hide the VPN notification. (This also happened in One UI 6.)

Hope this can be improved in a future update.

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community!

Some great suggestions. Thank you for sharing. I would also suggest going to the Samsung Members app > Support > Feedback to ensure it reaches the right people at Samsung. All the best!
