S25U - CODM regular crashing.

Having serious issues with CODM (Call of Duty Mobile) regularly crashing during gameplay since switching from my S21U. Never had this before in the four previous years of playing with my old device.. 

I'll be in game and it'll sporadically freeze for 4-5 seconds before crashing back to the phones home screen. Doesn't matter if I'm playing on battery or charge, including trying with a MagSafe fan attached for additional cooling. There's no rhyme or reason for when this happens, I could be playing for 10-15 minutes and have it crash, I could play for an hour and it be fine. Sometimes it'll even crash several times over in these periods. 

Game is running at low/medium graphics and ultra frame rate. 

So far I've tried the following;

• Adjusted Game Booster between Performance and Balanced mode.
• Used external cooling fan (as per above).
• Cleared game's cache and restarted device.
• Wiped cache partition in recovery. 
• Cleared Play Store's data and cache. 
• Cleared Game Boosters cache (not data)
• Cleared Android System Webview cache and data.

Game (and all apps) were installed fresh, with all data redownloaded. Only restored messages, photos/videos, and wifi/bluetooth networks via Smart Switch. 

Had to side load Thermal Guardian to view temperatures, and while the device does get warm everything is below the second hottest emoji and at most half way above the mid-way marker. 

Battery Protection is on and set to Maximum (20%-80%) if that's of any relevance. 

Has nothing to do with network connectivity. 

Curious if anyone else has experienced similar issues gaming, specifically with CODM? Big part of upgrading was for better performance while playing.

Try turning on RAM Plus and let me know if this helps.

I played COD Warzone and haven't experienced these issues. This does sound reminiscent of last year's issues on the S24 Ultra, whereby enabling RAM Plus helped reduce the problem significantly.

Hmm, I'll give it a try. One of the first things I did do when getting my S25U was disable RAM Plus as it was highly advised. 

Currently reinstalling and downloading all game content again.

You aren't alone in this, I always disable it myself. I did however find that it was necessary to enable it to keep a lot of games from crashing on the S24 Ultra last year though. I've not experienced this problem on my S25 Ultra though.

Same! Experience this very randomly, although not as frequent as you've described. I haven't experienced it in a while now though

Looks as if this has fixed the issue.

Since turning RAM Plus on I've yet to have a crash over the last couple of days when playing, which is a first. 

Quite interesting when you consider things ran fine on my S21U with 8gb of RAM.

I believe it's to do with the architecture differences of the CPU. The Snapdragon Gen3 in the S24 Ultra was a 64 bit chip only, one of the consequences of this change was a lot of older games would crash significantly. The Snapdragon Elite is no different although I'd hope that software updates would have remedy these issues by now. In any event, I'm glad this has helped you out with this problem.

Unfortunately, I've been getting the crashes again. Had been fine for a week, but just had three crashes in the space of 20 minutes moments ago. Hoping it's maybe due to the game dropping a major update, but given I was experiencing issues beforehand I'm not holding my breath. 

Little unsure of where to go from here.

I am experiencing the same thing. It's frustrating. It crashed three times within the space of 30mins. Its really frustrating.

I thought it was cos I migrated from S24U (where i never had this issue) to S25U so I uninstalled the game and reinstalled.

I reduced the resolution of the game. Its not even hot. Same issue.

Another thing that's been happening is when I enter a game for the first time, I appear to be the only person in the map. i do have to turn on the Airplane mode then back off before the map is populated with players.

What's going on?
