Hello 👋 @Paulc01
My Samsung Buds³ Pro are working as they should with the Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra.
Occasionally a pair of non Samsung options can work with one phone and then not another ,and yes it could be the phone's software.
What earphones are you using @Paulc01 🤔
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Hi @Paulc01
I am assuming that wired ear buds are headphones that connect with a cable via the USB port and they do not have a 3.5mm jack and adapter.
When you connect the headphones, do you get a USB notification? Did you check if the USB settings are on charging model only?
Have you tried any other set of headphones? It could be a bug or compatibility issue.

I think the OP refers to wired buds and the Buds 3 pro are wireless.

Indeed @Reylob 👍
As part of my reply I was conveying that mine appeared to be working OK and that they are from Samsung ,and so asked which manufacturers they were using.

Same. I will provide a simple temporary fix. But as soon as you unplug the USB-C wired earbuds, or headphones, the phone will not recognize them again, until you repeat this solution:
1. Plug in the wired headphones or wired earbuds
2. Power off your phone
3. Press and hold the power key and volume up key together to wake phone
4. Use the down volume key to navigate to "wipe system cache"; use the power key to select; use the volume down key to reboot phone now
Once you go into your phone open up any media player, your wired earbuds will work until you unplug them, you will have to plug them back and repeat the above temporary solution.
Back story: my uncle gave me his brand new in the box S25 Ultra, my wired usbc buds were working for three whole days and three whole nights with the phone, no problems, the buds also work on all other devices everywhere, so the problem is not the buds compatibility, and not the phone at all. Suddenly after going from bluetooth speakers to my wired buds. The phone stopped recognizing the wired buds since.
This temporary solution works as long as you plug the earbuds in while performing the wife system cache reboot. So it leads me to conclude, that this is a system wide issue, call it firmware or what you like. This is an issue Samsung should deal with in future firmware updates because when I took the phone into an official service centre. They determined that nothing is wrong physically with my phone to cause this bug. But no one is willing to do anything. They only try hard to up sell me to their latest bluetooth accessories! Shame!
Good luck.

100% same. There is nothing wrong with the port.
To the other people. This isn't a dongle USB DAC to 3.5 Inch wired headphones either. This is a problem for wired USB-C headphones and wied buds.
If Samsung didnt want us to use any wired accessories, they would have removed the usbc port. But internally they refuse to support wired accessories because they try hard to up sell us their bluetooth accessories! Shame!
