Hello everyone,
I just got my S25 ultra and I upgraded from Z fold 6 as I did not like the battery drainage on that phone. Been using S25 U over a week now and let me say that it's an absolutely amazing phone but I have lately noticed this phone gets too hot too soon. Especially when It's plugged in and I'm sending photos/videos on WhatsApp or when I'm downloading something while charging. Th top left corner where there are no buttons Especially gets most hot.
Anyone else having similar issues.

In device care, you could set the performance profile to light. It'd reduce the maximum performance of the device but should drop sustained temperatures. You could also use good guardians, thermal guardian and lower the thermal limit. In the same app, you could enable extra thermal protection too

Thank you for that suggestion
I forgot to mention that im from ipswich Sufolk UK and it's freezing cold here for the time being. I'm really worried about summers though.

New phones will get warm to start as they are syncing, and performing background tasks - this will settle 😊

I'm not too far away from Ipswich, got family there and lived there for a few years myself.

Thank you for that. I have also set up the performance to light mode and I hope that helps. All in all samsung phones are absolutely great and I don't see myself using anything else. Good day mate.

The phone has a thermal limit set within it. So it'll allow itself to get hot to do things, but once the limit is hit, it slows down to maintain a stable temperature. Meaning the heat probably isn't too much to worry about but the phone will probably slow down in the summer. The snapdragon 8 elite chips are known for being very hot under load, and the modified Samsung ones get even hotter. That's why the s25u has so much extra cooling. Though again, once it gets too hot it slows down to cool down

If you have just got the phone, it goes through a battery learning cycle.
My phone got a bit warm sometimes during this phase.
But settled down after this
My advice would be during this cycle to use the phone as you normally would. Then make adjustments later if you want.
The S25 Ultra has a much larger vapour chamber to dissipate heat from the processor.
So I doubt you will run into any overheating issues with performance

One thing I do, is if you have a thick bulky case on the phone. I will remove it when doing heavy processing tasks like gaming
Either not use one or get a thin case

When you mention that it's cold, are you charging in a cold environment? Any charging in cold temperatures can result in slower charging as lithium ion batteries require a certain temperature to charge. If it's too low, a lot of energy from charging is used to actively heat your device. It may feel hot to the touch, but this is necessary for the battery to actually charge safely. Needless to say, charging in a very cold environment is inefficient and can damage your battery. This isn't a phone issue, it's the inherent nature of lithium ion batteries. Anywhere from 16C to 22C is the ideal temperature.
