S25 Satellite Connectivity...YES!! (Sort of)

So despite it not being announced or discussed it seems the 8 elite in the S25 series DOES support satellite connectivity for SMS messages...with some caveats...so..maybe don't get too excited ..yet

Qualcomm notes that Galaxy S25 phones "are the first commercial devices to feature Snapdragon Satellite which allows consumers to send and receive messages via satellite (narrowband NTN) natively supported in Android OS."

For now, Qualcomm says the Galaxy S25 phones can only connect through one satellite communications provider, Skylo, which also powers emergency satellite-based SMS messaging on Google's Pixel 9 phones.

Good find, yes that is interesting even if the service is limited at the moment. Know there is some demand for satellite connectivity.

Yes it's something I really need as a Backcountry explorer but I hear it's carrier dependant. 

My only reason to upgrade to S25 would be satellite messaging but I've heard nothing on how it will work, only seen Verizon is US saying that it will work

just discovered this feature after pre-ordering the new S25. Will this feature be "carrier-driven", thus meaning that each carrier must establish commercial relationships with the satellite service providers, or can samsung activate this functionality via software?

Yes. 

I ordered 2 S25 ultra today from Telus in Canada, they have a partnership with satellite messaging that works with the snapdragon and Apple chips. Also got a free watch ultra. Ill find out next week for sure.

I have my phone but the satellite option isn't there like I've seen with some US phones on YouTube. 

Telus my provider does have agreements with skylo
