S25 battery drains whilst wireless charging and time to full charge

Every night I put my s25 on wireless charge, usually remaining battery is around 15% or so.  I get the usual text saying fast wireless charging and time to full charge. Battery protection of 80% is set.

Actual time to full charge (80%) is 4 or 5 hours rather than the 1 or 2 hours stated on the phone, times are dependent on the starting battery level.

Worse still is on a number of occasssions phone starts charging but then the battery drains whilst still charging. The phone position on charger does not get disturbed. Below is a couple of screen shots that show the battery level fall whilst charging.

Any ideas, suggestions or has anyone else had this happen.

It's a wireless dock, powered by a Samsung charger.

Thanks, I appreciate charging via USB is usually quicker with the right charger, wireless is more convenient.

Looking online, it should take two hours, but others suggest it takes much longer. The only reasons it would take longer are if the charger is not 15W and if you are using a case.

Are you using an offocial charger?

That is a great question and one that, once the device understands the charging that is in place, should be reasonably accurate.

Recommend you pop feedback into the Samsung Members App, Support, Feedback as a possible bug 👍

You haven't told us what type and brand of wireless charger are you using? Is it a generic cheap one from Amazon, is it a Samsung official charger? Is it a qi2 certified one?

Also what Samsung power adapter are you using,  15/25/45 Watts?

If it's a cheap generic one, these tend to charge slow, also if the adopter you are using is underpowered, 15w or below.

I use Samsung's official fast wireless charger with Samsung's 25w,  goes from 20% to 80% in a bit more than an hour, also Apple Magsafe/Qi2 charger, with a qi2 certified case charges in the same time.

I also have a cheap generic wireless charger, that one takes 3-4 hours to charge.

Does your phone say "Fast Wireless Charging" in the battery menu while charging, or just "wireless charging"?

The issue isn't the time it actually takes, it's that the phone detects it's fast charging, that's what the phone says when it goes on the the dock, and it gives a time to reach full charge which is not achieved by some considerable margin. So the phone firmware isn't giving a realistic estimate. But that isn't the real issue, the real problem is that sometimes, not every time, after charging for awhile the battery starts to discharge as shown by the screenshots.

FWIW I bought this Anker 735 charger which has better reviews than the Samsung charger https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09C87NLDN

Beware that fast  charging reduces battery longevity
