Hello all

It's been about 1 week since I bought the new samsung s25 phone, but during use I noticed 2 problems. The first problem is the battery consumption, I emphasize that even when the internet is turned off, wifi too and GPS also, the battery drops by itself without using phone, I followed all the instructions  recommended and still the same situation.

-always on display off

- dark mode

-put background apps to deep sleep

- use 60hz screen not 120 hz

-choose 4g not 5g

-low brightness.

Also the calculation of the app battery usage is not correct(photo attached).

In short, phone is consuming more battery for the amount of use that i do.

The second problem is the phone's memory, I see that the other files category is very high. I clear app cache files but the other files category does not decrease.I have noticed that when I uninstall an application, other files storage increase(photo attached).

Can you give me any tip about this concerns please?

Thank you

What your battery does is that it always goes low faster, but when you use it more, the battery adapts to your usage and lasts longer

That might be why
Thank you!

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community!

Did you happen to use SmartThings to move across from another device? This can impact/make apps act strangely. I would suggest ensuring all apps are updated.

Connect phone to PC/laptop
1. Turn off the device. 2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and Power key. 3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys. 4. An "Installing system update" message may show briefly before the Android Recovery menu options appear. 5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight "clear cache partition". 6. Press the Power key to select. 7. Press the Volume down key to highlight "Yes," then press the Power key to select. 8. When the process is complete, "Reboot system now" is highlighted. 9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Go to Settings > Apps > and remove any unused apps.

Please note it takes up to two weeks for the battery to optimize. My battery went from about 4 hours to 12–13 hours after the two-week mark.

As for other go to
1. Swipe up to reveal your apps screen. 2. Tap the Settings icon. 3. Tap "Battery and device care". ... 4. Tap "Storage" 5. Under "Recycle bin", tap the app you want to empty the recycle bin for. 6. Tap "Empty" to delete all the files. 7. Press and hold one file, then select the ones you want to delete. 8. Tap "Delete

Mine has about 7 GB. I believe some of this is important files/separate data from apps—apps which save info like WhatsApp/Messenger.

I found this—it may help.

The battery consumption on any new phone is always erratic. The way to describe how this will improve over time is once the phone gets used to you using it and your phone habits, then the battery consumption will improve. Give it time.

The 2nd concern is Other Files. This is what I found as an explanation for you

The "Other" storage category on a Samsung phone or tablet contains data from installed apps, including system files, cached data, and temporary files.

What's in "Other" storage? data from streaming apps, plugins, caches, documents, and system folders.

I have been using my phone for 12 months now and my Other Files is 11GB. But I'm not concerned about this. If I wanted to get rid of that I'd Factory reset the phone, but it would just build up again.

Other files contains a lot of cache files from apps. Social media apps are hogs for storing data. Also gallery apps as they store image files for quick loading. You can clear a lot of the cache files from your apps but it's a never ending battle as they just build up again.

Battery can drain whilst your devices screen is off for many reasons. It's impossible to tell you from a screenshot the causes. Things like phone signal, connected devices, background services, notifications, updates, AoD, even ambient temperature are all factors which play in battery drain and all are different for everyone.

Hello Joeeye

Thanks for your opinion. It is true that a screenshoot can't tell all the causes but i said in the post i have checked and done all the recommended things like you said( background, signal, notifications, updates) and nothing changed.

You're using dual SIM too which is yet another battery drain. All smartphones will draw power even appearing idle if connected to a network signal (WiFi or 4G/5G). My statement before was not an opinion, just a few facts of factors which contribute towards power drain. Your expected battery life could be an issue, but getting a bit over a day and a half from a device that even appears idle is totally within reasonable levels. It's quite dependent on all my aforementioned factors and there's plenty more I haven't included.
