I moved away from Apple in 2019 and pre ordered the s10+. I was so impressed I only ended up keeping it for 6 months. 🤔 Really impressed I upgraded to the note 10+ 😅. Needed to try out the note series and was happy I did.

Then the note 20 ultra was revealed I jumped for the upgrade, but I wasn't happy, terrible green tint display. Wishing I kept my note 10+. So when the s21 ultra showed up 6 months later I ordered. Again I was back to being happy.

2 years later I'm absolutely over the moon with the s23 ultra. Yes I am a fan of the curved displays, it was a design I liked. Getting the chance to test the flip 6 this year I got to like the flat display also. I'm a fan of both, but without a case on the s23 ultra you really do feel the sharp edge of screen protectors on a curved screen. Not a problem on a flat display. Always been a fan of both designs, I like the boxy design but I also like the rounded corners. Reminds me of the s21 ultra. Once I set the phone up, I wasn't sure if I preferred the s23 ultras display. Felt more easy on the eyes. Few adjustments in the settings I got it to how I want it. Yes this phone is bright. Text looks more bold yet set the same. It's a really nice display.

No one wants to see features go. We have lost many over the years. I'm not one that's been effected with no more Bluetooth S pen. I honestly never used air gestures. Samsung Keep it for the 1% that do. Make all your customers happy.

I didn't need to upgrade, my s23 ultra is still a solid device. You also may be thinking why I didn't end up with the flip6. It's old to me now, I've had my wow moment, if it was the 7th series that was just released I may well of done. I wanted a titanium device. Experience the anti reflective screen. Yes I prefer the lighter in hand devices. It's a little lighter😂 doesn't beat the flip. That's a great phone for pockets. I'm back to my handbag.

I'm happy with a 5000mah battery. I charge when it needs charging. It's a nice fresh design. Why did you choose to upgrade this year?

I enjoyed reading that Fiona, thanks for that. I'm still enjoying my S24U, and still paying for it. Otherwise I would have been tempted, especially with all the incentives available.
I still would love to test an S25 ultra just to see how they compare in everyday use.

Thanks Fiona. Not entirely dis-similar to my own choices in s21u, s23u and now upgrade.

I did atart my samsung journey a lot earlier with the s3 and s4 and then tried the iPhone 6... quickly came back to an S8+ and S10+.

I previously worked in the mobile phone space for Nokia, and appreciate the innovation that samsung do. I know not all reviewers and users agree, but even the incremental changes are typically enough to be excited about. Especially if having a 2 year generation gap between purchases.

I recall browsing on my phone one day, YouTube, websites, etc then I remember seeing the words "SAMSUNG Galaxy S25" appearing across my screen. Not long after, I recall losing consciousness slowly. As I start to regain my awareness, I remember standing over my desk with a small box package, within it, to my surprise, is a phone and some buds inside. All the rest is a blur... 😮

Good post @Fiona26 I initially cancelled my pre order on the s25U - but in the end went with it and re-ordered. The main reason is my s23U (which has been a great phone) had a crack on left lower part of the screen (my own fault for dropping it last year) and the deal with buying for the 1st time direct from Samsung was a really good one. I am saving 100s by not buying the new handset through a provider such as o2. Splitting air time from device plan - massive savings and I got a great deal for o2 airplan only for the next year.

So I thought why not and I am really glad I did! Slowly getting my new phone set up and got to say software wise Samsung so far have nailed this one. Goodlock is a bit of a disjointed mess at the moment as still waiting for the updates to kick in. But so far its a great device. Still using my S23u but tonight switching my Sim to the new phone. Then it will be new screen bought for the s23U to give to me partner (she demanded this of me 😄) and then all set.

The s23U was / is a great phone, its travelled 1000s of miles with me. But the new one surpasses it in many ways. Like you I dont care about Spen BT - never used that part - but can see why others wont be impressed with that. Sure this might be an incremental upgrade hardware wise, but software wise - its a big jump. 12gb is more than enough for me and the battery, honestly had no issues, I just charge it when I need to. I dont game - my phone is mainly work (lots of emails and some online portals) and media consumption. And so far no regrets at all especially since its housed in a Tongate case which is as strong as it gets and probably the best case I ever bought. And I need a strong case back and front as I am prone to dropping my kit 😉

So overall no regrets at all. Interesting to see what others say.

I am enjoying my S24U and I am experiencing a S25U, I love it's large screen, the camera and it's a tad bit smoother than the S24U and but in the big run I can't tell a big difference in performance, although for sure there is, I just haven't used it enough. I have been satisfied well enough with the S24U and I can't find a logical reason why I should upgrade right now, other than the features I already numbered from S25U. If my phone was 2 years older or so I would get the S25U.

Interesting resume Fiona, we all have our preferences and reasons for deciding to upgrade. Anyway looks like you are very happy with your choice. 😁.

Good to hear from the others in their choices too.😎

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Interesting to hear that you think it is a fairly significant upgrade (as others have indicated over a 2 year period. Know some reviewers ,not that impressed with lack of Battery upgrade ,it is deemed more efficient though.

Yeah I have watched and read quite a few reviews and understand the moans about not having a bigger battery - but I just think some other brands whilst they may pack a bigger punch 5500 battery or 6000 , and 16gb rather than 12 - slack off in other areas. I am finding as I use my new phone more and more battery life is great. Would I notice a difference with a bigger battery - I dont know. But so far have no run out of charge and always have a charger close to hand anyway  - either wired or charging bank. But for me coming from the s23uk it is quite a leap. Certainly on the software side. It will be fascinating what Samsung comes up with on the s26 - which I am not even thinking about "yet" ......................... 😄
