I say first watch reviews of one ui 8 , then if you liked it and it was good in your opinion , update to it.

For me, it's not about what OneUI 8 does. It's about what OneUI 8 prevents me from doing. The reviews never focus on that.

But you make a good point, I'll take the time to write a list of features I need. And ensure, that OneUI keeps them all by watching a ton of reviews and a ton of articles... but like I said, they never focus on feature being removed - only features being added / improved. So, I don't really know how well this'll go.

One UI8 is a minimal update, nothing like the changes to One UI7.

Personally I would update but I always do.

Hi @MyNameIsTim

If you have many problems with One UI 7, then you should provide feedback using the Members app. The technical team should receive it and might act on it.

One UI 8, like any update, be firmware or app update, it might fix some issues but it could also introduce others. It is a fact of live on all complex software.

You should NOT skip One UI 8 and go directly to One UI 9. Updates are done gradually. They could update formats of data which might cause conflicts with older version. e.g. a database changes on update B, and update C is done assuming the new database format, it could cause issues if it has the format before update B.

In addition, updates include security and bug fixes which should NOT be left without patching for a year. You might leave your device vulnerable to attacks.

My suggestion is to write down a list of features that you use, and check if they're still a thing in OneUI 7.
