I want to know if I should update immediately or wait until OneUI 9.

K. But others have access to OneUI 17. So, read articles, watch videos, and ask questions to ensure everything you need is still there.

All devices are already vulnerable to attacks. That's why security is "improved" with each update.

My current device has been secure enough so far, and I'm willing to gamble with it's current level of security, in favour of keeping useful features I require from being removed.

And as you said, "might". And, for my experience, it's more of a "probably not" (which isn't 0% btw). And, like I said, Samsung with this OneUI 7 update his literally just removed features that I "require".

Thanks for your honest thoughts.

I'm not going to base my choice entirely on it, but it's useful to know.

Interesting how the only person who isn't a "Samsung Members Star" also happens to be the only person with a non-positive comment.

I do not really care about these stars or likes or positives. I am simply stating facts from me using one ui 8 as a paying customer and what i am experiencing on my s25 ultra is acceptable.1750151408610.jpg

@jiyh Unsure what you mean by ui8 BETA is dissapointing?

The beta isn't an update -its intent is for those willing to risk issues and help Samsung with feedback. So, be sure to submit feedback in the beta to help- its a beta release, not an update whatsoever

Clearly not much knowledge of betas and that the fact its a possibility will come in the full version and in fact worse than one ui 7. Have a lovely day John. Please do actual research and also the SAME issue on one ui 7 BEFORE using beta. So yes. Nothing been improved in the department as mentioned. These "stars" always quick to defend Samsung. There is improvements to be made.

All devices are vulnerable to attacks, we agree there. However, security issues are disclosed after a period of being detected, allowing manufacturers to fix them. Meaning, hackers will be more actively looking for devices affected by them and probabilities of them being exploited are greater than a random security issue which has not been detected.

Following the logic of not updating because of features being removed, means that you will never update. It is very likely that if a feature is removed on update B, it will also be missing on update C and all subsequent updates.

Which required feature was removed? Are you sure that it has not being moved to another setting? It is worth noting that the S25 series was released with One UI 7, it was not upgraded from 6.1.

Anyway, if you feel you should not upgrade, then don't. Your device, your decision.
