I'm also an S25+ user, and I too have an issue with poor NFC performance. Like you, it takes a good three or four attempts to get it to work.
Hopefully a fix is available.

I am having the exact problem. Everything tested fine, but NFC rarely works. When it did, I was trying for several minutes. I had issues with my S23 Ultra as well. I think it is a bug with the Samsung "S" series.

NFC rarely works for me, with or without the case. Samsung Pay or Google Pay, it doesn't matter. It rarely works.

I have the same issue with S25. When I attempt to pay at the POS it always fails the first time ( nothing happens) but when you move the phone away and try again, it works. This is using the Google wallet. My Samsung wallet doesn't work for some reason. I can only use the app for passwords but not card payments. I think it's blocked for my country. However, I suspect that samsung wallet may be interfering with Google wallet.

I think I found the solution. When I went into Settings, Connections, NFC and contactless payments, Default wallet app, I had three apps selected as default. I don't know how that happened. When I unselected the other two and left only Google Wallet, my NFC problems went away. Please give it a try.
