How to move the app screen search box/bar back to the top?

Just moved to the S25 from S23 and I'm not impressed with OneUI 7.

As far as the app screen/drawer is concerned, I know where all my apps are by muscle memory and only use the search function once in a blue moon. The search bar really should be far away from my fingers at the top like it has always been.

There should at least be an option to select the location of the search bar.

Check this fix: From Good Lock > use the Home up app >  Home screen settings >  Finder access (switch it on). Then use it directly from the home screen with no broken fingers or phones. 

I am also very frustrated with these fabulous "improvements". I've been using this alternative fix for two weeks, and at least I don't do weird twists to open it. It changes the steps,  but actually I skip one step and open the search bar directly from the home screen.

I absolutely agree with this. We should not be forced to have the search bar at the bottom of the screen. It does not look or feel right, in my opinion. I believe that the search bar should be customisable to allow all android users to change if they want the search bar at the top or bottom, not be forced into a, what I call, a design flaw. Search bars are always at the top of something, for example the settings menu. The search button sits at the top. It makes more sense for the search bar to be at the top.

Honestly, this makes it nearly impossible for me to use it one handed now. My thumb cannot bend below my hand to reach the search. Not to mention that the search bar everywhere else is on top. Microsoft, chrome, safari... the search bar is always near the top of the screen.

Agreed. Ive been with samsung for the last 20 years now but dont like the patronising tone and having major UI changes forced on me. Will be switching phone brand asap

For real! What the f**k, Samsung!? There arent even options to personalize these changes back to what it was before. Completely messed up what people have created over the course of OneUI 6. Awful. Totally stupid.

Having the search bar at the bottom is not ergonomically friendly. Not a fan and I can't believe I can't change it. What is this an iphone?That's why we get androids.
