How to move the app screen search box/bar back to the top?

Just moved to the S25 from S23 and I'm not impressed with OneUI 7.

As far as the app screen/drawer is concerned, I know where all my apps are by muscle memory and only use the search function once in a blue moon. The search bar really should be far away from my fingers at the top like it has always been.

There should at least be an option to select the location of the search bar.

The customer should be in charge of where they want the search bar and we should be able to customise our phones, not dictated to!!!

How can we roll this update back? this UI has gone backwards in functionality! 

- the app search bar has moved to the bottom, it moves up and down when the keyboard appears
-  i can no longer double swipe down on the home screen ( can if i do it 10 times or so)
- when the screen is rotated when i swipe down from the top i can no longer see any notifications 

this is what ive noticed after an hour of playing with the new update.

I don't have a lot to add to the conversation other than I've made an account to say that this is an awful update and I'm tired of getting AI shoved down my throat because bad execs decided AI was a good move and they need it to work out with how much money they're putting in their beautiful golden bubble at the cost of the environment. The fact that you reset my options to what YOU think I want is just really dumb on top of removing my options as well. Never again Samsung

I also find this update disruptive and counterintuitive. I've had it for several weeks and I'm still not used to it. It does not feel like something I will eventually think is convenient because I was forced to. My thumb has to bend haphazardly to reach the search bar instead of just tapping at the top of the screen like I've done for the past few years. 

Maybe this feels more natural to some people but it does not to me. Please give us the option to put it back to the top of the screen Samsung!

Another user who's just updated to 7, already fixed the ridiculous change to the notifications panel, was hoping I could fix the search bar as well. I want to use my phone my way, hence android rather than Samsung, and don't like being told I have to adapt because Samsung thinks this is better. Please introduce a fix to allow us to keep our UI set up the way we want.

I have read so many comments and can't agree more.
This is looking more like an iPhone now and I HATE iphones with a passion. I've always been for Samsung but if this doesn't change I will NOT be buying another Samsung.

Please listen to what your customers want and not make changes that so many hate.
Clearly whoever pitched this idea is an iPhone fan and therefore should have no place on the team that decide changes.

Put this back how it was or lose customers.

The search bar is something that I hate seeing everyday and no I'm not getting used to it. I always still go to the top of the screen to search.
PUT IT BACK AND REMOVE IPHONE LOOKS

Like others have said. If we wanted an iPhone we would buy an iPhone.

This is ridiculous and I hope people read these comments and make the changes FOR THE CUSTOMER!! As a company doesn't work without customers so make us happy please.

I've been a loyal customer of samsung since the samsung d500 and d600

I'm not happy with this at all and unfortunately will be looking for a new phone that isn't samsung.
Such a shame.
I hope the next update is soon and reverts the stupid changes made.... then I might stick with samsung but if no changes as customers are asking for then definitely no more samsung for me.

As a minimum please allow us to customise it as we want. We pay enough for these devices to have that freedom.

I agree, this latest update is a pain. It's changed all my wallpapers and ringtone which I can't seem to get back... Don't like most of the changes and would love to roll back.

I wish this update was uninstallable.

Apps can be sorted alphabetically or they can be in classic pages. WHY NOT BOTH?

The search bar is now fixed to the bottom. WHY CAN'T We MOVE IT TO WHERE IT'S BEEN FOR SO MANY YEARS?

I spent an hour searching. I've had to use goodlock just to get the old gestures back working. I've used the bottom swipe for back, home, and active apps for years, ever since I suffered screen burn from the onscreen buttons.

Seriously had enough, one ui 7.0 just isn't intuitive. 

Release an update Samsung. This is annoying. Next. Phone will probably be a pixel now. I stuck with galaxy phones for Years. I liked the continuity of function. 7.0 has broken that for me

Wow this is not about muscle memory at all. This is about how uncomfortable this is to use now. To lower the top menu is a mess. Changing buttons. Who decides those features?  This is my first and will be my last Galaxy. By the way. When it disconnects from the car it should automatically reconnect to the headsets. It does not. The one plus does that. I should have stayed with them.
