Google advanced subscription with UK s25 ultra?

I've seen that US customers are getting this for a limited time. Just wondered if uk customers are getting this too? There's nothing on official samsung channels

Yes it seems so, it appears a chunk of the AI capabilities rely on it

So they expect you to pay £18.99 a month to get the the AI features. That's £227 a year.

Perhaps in the longer term this may be the case.

For the meantime Gemini will be free for at least 6 months.

Perhaps the business model is relying on users becoming reliant upon these AI services before then bringing in a payment schedule 🤷

There have been some youtubers saying that the 'on device AI' will likely remain free.. whereas the 'cloud AI' will be managed by subscriptions.

That may be true. Just think it's worth considering do you really want to pay a subscription. Personally I wouldn't pay.

I also have no intentions on paying large subscription costs.

But there is so much uncertainties right now that I won't look to far ahead.

Evaluate the new functions whilst they are free, and then make judgement... if or when... that time comes along.

I don't think you can be automatically subscribed to Gemini Advanced. It was the same with Microsoft and YouTube. Until you decide to subscribe yourself, the promotion will remain on your Samsung account. I got the YouTube promotion with the S5 mini, I only used it on the S9+. I used the promotion for a year of free Microsoft storage on the S21 Ultra. Please note that you can only use the promotion once in connection with your Samsung account and you won't be able to use it on the S26 series if you use it now.

Your not auto subscribed in, you need to opt in and 6mths free for S25 users, thereafter it's upto you.

At our Unpacked Workshop, I asked Samsung's Minseokk Kang (Head of Smart phone product planning) what is free and what is paid, the answer was Samsung current AI offerings are free, but any 3rd party such as Gemini is out of their control.

My personal view based on non mobile subs, is they will never make the touted revenue, claim they have with smoke and mirror accounting, and most revenue is made selling anonymised data.

Not that's where, for now, i put more trust with Samsung on device processing and free AI (for now).

AI at the moment for consumers is not (or we don't get) they proper AI that i think we would pay for, but then we will need Arnold to return to fight SkyNet 😂
