Hi
Lovely People

These are my views on the S25 ultra on the1st Day of having it.
Bear in mind that these are just initial thoughts ( subject to change) and am comparing it to my S24 ultra.

OUT OF BOX EXPERIENCE.

Compared to my S24 ultra
1. The screen looked blueish when Off compared to the deep black on the s24 ultra.
2. The Design on my S24 ultra to me looked more premium then the S25 ultra.
3. Photos taken on the S24 ultra looked more detailed in the S25 ultra gallery.
4. The S25 ultra is way more snappier then the S24 ultra.
5. Battery life is around 4 hours SOT at 50%. Which feels similar to my S24 ultra give or take.

Things I Love on the S25 Ultra.
1. The phone is fast.
2. Log video
3. Virtual aperture
4. Chi charging availability
5. Audio eraser

Things I have not Liked.
1. The flat design
2. The camera ring bumps
3. Seems to get hot while using camera

Day 1 verdict

Just to sum up the day.

The S25 ultra has got quite a lot going for it and I am quite happy I got it. Although I feel I should have kept my s24 ultra as well and not traded it in.

I doubt you will get everything on the s24 ultra as the s25 ultra has so much goodies baked in I feel they might be because of the elite chip and other stuff Samsung has done to the phone.

This might not be an upgrade but it's definitely a big update and one not to miss.

I can't wait to try all the new stuff.

Have any of you upgraded from the S24 ultra do let me know your thoughts.

Have a great day. 😊

Personally I find it a bigger upgrade than the S24 Ultra was to the S23 Ultra.

It's interesting about the screen, but with my S24 Ultra the screen has a slightly more blue tint to light reflections vs the S25 Ultra which are a bit more white. The base though looks pretty much identical to my eyes.

In terms of design, definitely more a fan of the box design on the S24 Ultra, but the flat sides I'm not bothered, just a bit silly Samsung are just mimicking Apple though.

Software wise, I'm a little underwhelmed by some options Samsung has changed such as the swipe from the corners to activate AI assistant. I just got use to invoking Gemini on my S24 Ultra only to find it changed on the S25 Ultra 😬 I use my power button for the torch and power menu, so that option isn't for me.

Definitely mimicking apple now i still think the old design was more premium heavier but I like to feel my phones in my pocket. Plus if anything shows how much they cut back on the aluminium they use only the sides are titanium. I'm hoping design changes again in a few generations 🙏

I don't think samsung is mimicking apple at all. Samsung has had varied designs over the years and so they can pick and choose. It's just that people are too hung up on apple and compare it with that all the time.

I do agree that the lines have blurred overall between ios and Android with each copying the other which is good for consumers. 😊

Well i guess but samsung used to be innovative had unique designs and features that were unlike anyone else. They have become a bit complacent in recent times hence why the Chinese brands are stealing a March on them with more unique designs and materials in there phones and still having bigger batteries. And come with cases, chargers and other accessories in the box. Plus boxes themselves more of an unboxing event than the standard black boxes they do. But at least they still give us a charge cable Sony don't even do that! Sure it's Chinese firms way of getting and keeping customers but it works, if samsung continues removing hardware features that make them unique then it's gonna make people move to others. This is how Nokia fell from grace. They tried to outdo android by sticking with symbian they launching a very adventurous phone in the N97 but put eggs in one basket and boom they imploded. You can get to overconfident sometimes and before you know it your a shadow of your former self with no chance to get back to the top.

You make some valid points.

Here is my take.

Nokia did Awesome hardware but fell from grace cause their symbian software and Apps were all over the place.

I believe Apple is the one who kind of had the one app store to rule em all.

Same issue with Samsung. They do Awesome hardware but failed to capitalise on The software partly due to Androids fault.
I'll be honest. I have always pushed Samsung to sort out their software as they hardware has always been top notch.

I guess this is what Samsung is doing with One UI 7 and the S25 Ultra and I can feel it already.
(I'm kinda glad I upgraded from the S24 ultra already).

Chinese phones no doubt have improved especially in their camera departments but with the more established brands like Samsung or Apple you need to see the overall picture and not just one or two wow factor.

With Samsung you get everything and it does whatever you throw at it. Its a full package.

Also You can buy a Samsung anywhere in the world ( This both good for customers but bad as Samsung has to comply with different country requirements etc).

With the Chinese you can't buy them everywhere and not to mention the ads, less software support and a while loads of stuff not available etc.

I am a die hard Samsung Fan now like I was with Nokia and then the Windows Lumia phones.

One could say I have found the stable Love of my life until maybe something else sways my eyes.😊
