Not that it gave when it was designed - they just copied the s24 - added a flat side and that was it
now that is launched - it seems they have forgotten it already
the s25 is the only series atm to still not have received the march security patch (all other models have) and also is stuck on October Google security patch
on top of everything - there has been no quality improvement update (more than a month after launch) and the now brief/live activities remain a pie in the sky - with little to no use esp if you're in the UK or other markets
and to add a final slap in the face - s25 is actually on a older version of one UI 7 than s24/23 beta versions are....
so yea - i wonder what is going on at samsung atm - i billions $$$ company and you cant get one thing right!!

Are you asking me these questions because you genuinely don't know - id be surprised - given you're a master-minder here
So i guess you're just trying to riling me up - but fine - i will play your little game:
a) everyone's perception of the s25 is different and very subjective - it depends also if you're coming from an older model or newer (i moved from s24u) - so you think is flawless - to you yes i am sure it is
b) the care - is not the right word - samsung can or cannot offer any care to their devices - this is entire up to them - and if no one minds or complains - then you can very well buy a samsung phone and stay with the out of the box OS all your life... what i am expecting is a level of interest and engagement with this phone - at the end of the day - and until Edge is launched (but even then Edge isnt their most ultra version) this phone is their FLAGSHIP!! I am sorry but to me flagship doesnt just mean best features/hardware - but also best software, best S/W updates, first in line, best of the bunch
at the moment that is not just the case, let me give you a few more examples
> One UI7 - supposedly an exclusive feature - on S25 range only...yet 3 new budget samsung phones have One UI 7 - whilst last years flagships dont!!!
> S25s One UI7 version isnt the most recent built - so what you might say - well this is most likely the reason why google play services are still on OCT as the build is an OCTOBER built - and since Samsung hasnt bothered updating their built yet - the phone is stuck on OCT play
c) so what if S25 doesnt have march security yet - but all other older models have - i mean sure maybe the chances of a security attack is low, but ultimately it comes down to again - if this is your flagship - the phone you brag about and also given s24/23s have long now been discontinued on samsung site - you expect this is the first phone to get these security updates - right??? as small and insignificant they are - your most expensive phone should be the first to get them not the last - thats how i see it normal - thats how i deal with my clients at work - my biggest clients get first any deals not last
d) who cares about google play system updates - I DO - and you should know that these updates - although insignificant to you and many - are actually much more significant than you might think - this is Google/Android's way to update and add new features to the OS and Google apps - i will give you an example: on my Xiaomi Phone that is now on Feb patch - the google photos, Gemini, Maps and Google app - there are new and updated features/options - that showed up after the Feb patch - they do no exist on the S25u - my google photos app still has the old 4 tabs design that was changed back in Nov - bcz it still has an OCT patch - so yes - Google Play system (not to be confused with google play store) updates DO MATTER and they matter a LOT - in may ways they introduce new/enhanced features more than a simple individual app update would do - they also are responsible for A/B testing in certain apps - as google looks at the version to decide if you see or not some features
on top of this - they bring significant security updates to the Android frame work - to be on a 1-2-3 months old patch is acceptable though not ideal but to be on a 6mo old - is pathetic; people blame Google for this but is not true - Samsung is responsible - because Google will release these updates based on the device OS built - (sam needs to pass monthly to Google these device builts) - if Google has a device built of October ofr Samsung One UI of cz the phone will not receive this patch that S24/23 have already received
d) quality updates - those are updates that bring new or improved functionality - should be released monthly - based on users' feedback - Samsung shouldnt only do this via BETA builds - but atm all Samsung effort is going into bringing a finalised one ui 7 to S24 series and foldable - because they are getting a lot of (and deservedly) hate from users - who wouldnt be annoyed if a £300 phone has android 15 and yet your 1500GBP one year old doesnt
in this process - S25 seems indeed forgotten: they're probably thinking - ok its the flagship, has a new processor, has one ui 7 (regardless the built) so that should keep them happy - LETS FOCUS all energy on the beta for older devices
Why cant samsung do what Apple do - have one freaking OS for all phones - release it all at once - with obvs limitations based on capabilities and stop constantly run each phone on a different built - taking 10y to bring it an update
So yea - i am annoyed that spending £1500 on a phone - expecting to be the most up to date device off al their portfolio and yet is still running on software from 2024, behind many older cheaper phones
12-03-2025 05:25 PM
so what are you saying is: give samsung £1500 and shut up - you dont have the right to comment or complain about the phone - what annoys me here is that users like yourself - with high community ratings - continue to either spread misinformation or cloudy the truth to benefit Samsung
Google Play updates are Google"s responsibility - true BUT is Samsung RESPONSIBILITY to update OS builds on Google's Servers - the reason why S25 hasnt received it one yet - but other Samsung have - is because the S25 runs on an older built - that Google simply HASNT/and might not release a GPS update yet/ever
so is that Google's fault - i dont think so -i think is samsung responsibility to update their device list with google
At the end of the day i have my rights to complain OKAY> stop trying to mock me -
oh third world problems - am sorry are you writing this reply from the frontline of Ukraine-Russia war? i dont thinks so
so dont make me feel bad for speaking my mind - i dont criticise your posts so please have the same decency if its not too much to ask
