Is there someone, who can compare the camera between the latest stable One UI 7 (June update) and the latest One UI 8 Beta 2?

Are there visible improvements in photo quality, photo consistency and smoothened videos?

Major camera upgrade came with UI7 already and it's substantial from UI 6.1. UI8 Beta is test software not a definitive software, if there is camera upgrade coming with UI8 it should be specified by Samsung before the stable version is released. Bugs should be fixed for certain though.
You can control video smoothness already manually if you swipe the screen with your finger above the zoom numbers.

Many smartphone manufacturers and software developers offer beta programs that allow users to test pre-release versions of their operating systems or specific applications. This gives users a chance to experience new features early and provide feedback, while developers can identify and fix bugs before a wider release.
Here's how you can typically get a beta version of phone software:
1. For Operating System Betas (like Android or iOS):
* Android Beta Program (for Pixel devices and some partner devices):
* Google offers an Android Beta Program for eligible Pixel devices. You can usually find information and sign up on the official Android Developers website.
* Other smartphone manufacturers (like Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, etc.) often run their own beta programs for their custom Android skins (e.g., Samsung's One UI). You'd typically find these within their own official apps (like Samsung Members for One UI) or on their developer websites.
* How it works: You enroll your eligible device, and then over-the-air (OTA) updates for the beta version will be pushed to your phone.
* Current major beta: As of June 2025, Android 16 Beta is in active development.
* Apple Beta Software Program (for iOS):
* Apple provides a Public Beta Software Program for iOS (and iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, etc.).
* You can sign up on the Apple Beta Software Program website.
* How it works: After enrolling, you'll install a beta profile on your device, which allows you to receive beta updates through the standard "Software Update" section in your iPhone's settings.
* Current major beta: As of June 2025, iOS 26 beta is expected to be available or coming soon.
2. For Individual App Betas (via Google Play Store or TestFlight):
* Google Play Store (for Android apps):
* Many app developers offer beta programs directly through the Google Play Store.
* How to join:
* Open the Play Store app on your Android device.
* Search for the app you want to beta test.
* On the app's detail page, scroll down. If a beta program is available, you'll often see a section that says "Join the beta" or "Become a tester." Tap "Join" or "Become a tester" to enroll.
* Once enrolled, the app will update to its beta version.
* Example: The Google Phone app itself often has a beta program you can join this way.
* Apple TestFlight (for iOS apps):
* For iOS apps, developers often use Apple's TestFlight app to distribute beta versions to testers.
* How it works: You'll typically receive an invitation link (via email or a website) from the developer. Tapping this link will prompt you to install TestFlight (if you don't have it already) and then allow you to download the beta version of the app.
Important Considerations for Beta Software:
* Instability: Beta software is pre-release, meaning it's still under development. It can be unstable, have bugs, crash frequently, or cause certain features to not work as expected.
* Battery Drain: Beta versions might sometimes lead to increased battery consumption due to unoptimized code or new features.
* Data Loss Risk: While unlikely, there's always a slight risk of data loss with beta software. It's highly recommended to back up your device before installing any beta.
* No Guarantees: There's no guarantee that every app or operating system will have an open beta program.
* Feedback: The primary purpose of beta programs is to gather feedback from users. If you join, be prepared to report any issues you encounter to the developers.
* Opting Out: Most beta programs allow you to opt-out and revert to the stable public version, though this might sometimes require a factory reset or waiting for the next stable release.
If you're interested in testing a specific phone software or app, your best bet is to check the official website of the manufacturer or developer, or look for beta options directly within the app's listing on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

What exactly am I looking for? Let's break it down.

First of all, I can't compare One UI 6.1 and 7, since I started using S25 Ultra with 7 preinstalled already out of the box. Also a disclaimer - I'm also using the Camera Assistant to add additional settings and tweaks to the Samsung camera app.

In photos I'm mostly looking for improved consistency. By that I mean, that currently you can take the same picture 5x and some will be sharp and focused properly, some will not be. You are not able to take the same picture twice, it feels like a big hit and miss currently.

I would also like to see prettier portrait effect blur around the focused item. Sometimes you focus on an item, take a photo and after the post-processing is over, the background blur effect is not that good looking. Sometimes there are even some artifacts in the blurred section. Samsung could work on the blur to feel more natural and silky smooth.

Videos overall are fine, but there is a known bug for quite some time already, that when you have a "Video stabilization" feature turned on, sometimes you can see lags. Yes, if you turn this feature off, the videos are not laggy anymore, but they look wobbly. This could also be fixed.

Also the selfie camera is extremely inconsistent. Very rarely I can take a sharp selfie on a first or a second try. Usually I have to take at least 5 - 6 selfies and then filter out the best one and delete the rest.

I could continue, but I guess you get the point.
