Hi.
Lovely People

After updating my S24 ultra with the February update. I have noticed that youtube app automatically goes into Picture in Picture mode if I want to use say a another app like WhatsApp.

What's cool about it is it is all automatically done now.

Only downside is you can't skip the ads.

I feel this is a brilliant move by Samsung and Google as its a Win Win for both Samsung and Google and us consumers as multitasking is taken on a whole new different level.

Mine seems hit and miss @GoanGeek

Watching YouTube tech creators seems to go into PiP sometimes, but not music videos.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

You are right 😩.

Hit and miss it is then or as you say maybe depends on the content watched.

Would be nice if they to it out for all videos given it plays ads anyway.

YouTube (or Google) have been experimenting and trying new things over the last few years. This is one that's trickled in recently, much like the integrated HDR content from videos and ads, to a new AI summary for videos. The PiP is definitely a cool thing to have automatically now. Give me background audio without premium and it's perfect 😉

They had the background audio but removed it. Can't remember what's it called. I used to do it on my s24 ultra

Yeah it's nice to have PiP, especially in the UK where the feature has been a bit more limited for whatever reason.

It's not a Samsung feature though as I also had it on my iPhone previously. Seems to only work with certain videoseos for me, which I'm guessing is some weird region lock thing.
