S25+ screen issue

Went from S21U to S25+ and loving it so far, however I'm having an issue with the screen. Occasionally when I unlock the screen, the display is minimized and shown only in the upper left quadrant of the screen. The rest of the screen is black and the touch controls remain where they should be when the display uses the entire screen, i.e., to use the home button, I tap the spot on the screen where the home button SHOULD be, even though the screen is black in that location. The mini display then reacts and shows the home screen. This makes it extremely difficult to navigate. I know it sounds like one handed mode but that is turned off. I also can't move the mini display around the screen like you can in one handed mode and the touch controls should move with the display if this was the case. It seems to happen when an app (usually youtube) is left open on the screen when I lock it. A restart fixes the issue (when I can manage to find the right spot to tap) but its happening a handfull of times per day and its really annoying. Hope this makes sense. I posted the same on the reddit page with no luck. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and Welcome.

If you have done a smartswitch transfer it can create glitches in the software transfer.

Ideally we advice to never transfer apps and settings.

Rest can be transferred.

My preference is to always set up a new phone from scratch and then add apps as and when needed.

Having said that I did a smart switch transfer for the first time from my s24 ultra to my s25 ultra and have had no issues.

The older the devices rhe more incompatibility issues.😊

If you dont wanna do the above try a ' WIPE CACHE ' of the phone. Check up youtube videos on how to go about it.

I cleared the cache and unfortunately it just did it again. Is a hard reset the next step?

If you must do hard reset. Don't restore apps and settings
Rest recover.

Also best to have an online backup like Google One.

Having this same issue and have not had a resolution for it. Seems to happen to me on my S25 Ultra whenever i leave the house. When i am in the store about to use samsung pay or send a text, it is zoomed into the top left and A PAIN to restart when i need it.

Have you tried a hard reset? I haven't yet just because its a pain but I've about had it with this issue. Mine does it every time I have youtube in the foreground and the screen times out or I lock it manually. I use youtube a lot so it happens somewhat often. Luckily the phone restarts really fast but its still anoying
