How do the Google Pixels get Android 15 before Samsung?

Since the Pixels were released, last October, alot of us (myself included) have been patiently waiting for Android 15 on Samsung phones.

As of February 10th, 2025, No release date yet. Worst case scenario speaking, the update probably will not roll out in Canada for S24 Ultra and other devices until S26 Ultra is released next year (2026) Pixels got the update in October 2024, Samsung should have had it by now. Maybe Samsung delays it completely, wanting customers to spend $2,000+ on the S25 Ultra and then another $200+ (assumption, yes) for a S25 Ultra compatible bluetooth S-Pen.

Who knows when the Android 15 will arrive on the S24 Ultra, if ever.

Because it's owned by Google and they the ones who releases the Andriod software.

Quarter 1 of 2025 is when Android 15 is expected on older Galaxy models, but depends on lots of things. What model of phone you have, what region, how well beta testing goes.

I currently have Samsung S24 Ultra 512GB, purchased and living in Canada (Toronto, Ontario)

had about perhaps 7 security updates since device was purchased in March 2024

Google are the ones who pushing and own it, it up to brands like samsung, xiaomi etc who will modify the Android skin on top of original Android, test that all features working properly and there's no bugs, then there's carriers who wants to add some twists to it and they want to test it modify and when it's safe to release then they will release its a whole process.

Now in terms of when it was mentioned nothing but Q1 of 2025 now S and Z 6 series started receiving February patch update in Korea so my guess it will be in March as it will be in the time frame of Q1 but then also keep in mind there's networks who might delay if you got it from them. So far no specific dates were given and patience is the key.

In my opinion, it's better to wait for it to be perfect than to wait all this time and have flaws. I imagine the last thing Samsung wants to do is lose customers (name, money, or reputation) and they are doing the best of their ability. Patience is key—it's only Q1. As you said, you have the S24 Ultra and are pretty much first in line after the S25 Ultra.

I'm really keen to receive it too. I imagine you'll receive yours before me as I'm on an S23 Ultra (UK, not carrier locked).
My wife has had a few Pixel (and Nexus) phones, and they're great at getting the latest Android updates. However, for me, the hardware of the Samsung S range is better and feels more solid. It's a decision I am still happy with, and to be fair, Samsung tend to be pretty good getting the updates out.
