Samsung Keyboard: turn on "Alternative characters" option depending on the language

In the "Layout / Alternative characters" option, there is a layout list. Is it the list of layouts, for which the option is on? Does it mean, that it is possible to turn on/off the option for each layout separately?

If no, then what is the purpose of that list?
