I bought a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra phone 4 weeks ago and soon discovery it has a very weak Signal reception. Where I get 4 bars of signal strength with the SIM card in my old Huawei P40 Pro phone ,  I bearly get 2 bars on the  Galaxy S24 Ultra phone. I have no protection cover on the phone.  The LTE/5G indicators frequently toggles on and off and calls get dropped frequently.  I have been to the Samsung Service center (Singapore) 3 times in 2 weeks, and the engineers there have reformated and re-installed the OS twice after confirming the issue.  They ask me to go re-install my apps and data and come back if it the situation does not improve.

Checking the internet and Samsung community sites, signal strength weakness is a well known issue.

I feel cheated out of nearly $2000.  If you are considering buying a Samsung S24  Ultra, please DON'T. It's great a a gadget to use with WiFi but it is a scam as a mobile phone!!! Save your money and buy something else!!

Have you tried any other data plans? Perhaps that may work.

You may get a more 'focused' response from posting this in your own region. This is the community forum for the UK and EU.

You mention service centre in Singapore and discuss the costs in USD $.

One question i would have are you using this phone within its intended region? Things like supported 5G bands and variances in cellular signals in different regions can make large differences in the availability of signal strength. For example, 5G bands are different in the US than they are in Europe.

You should imvestigate these points as the first priority.

Good luck

Hi @Lumpombwe

I have a S24 Ultra and it has good signal reception 5G or 4G.

Did you upgrade to the latest firmware?

Are you using the phone in the region you bought it from? As @smiley mentioned Phones from from different regions might have reduced features depending on bands and legal regulations on the region the phone is used.

Hi. Sometimes the bars don't mean anything unless you are really seeing the results in actual usage like web browsing and downloading.

I bought the phone in Singapore and I am using it in Singapore on the Starhub network. I have taken it to the service center twice and the engineers there acknowledge the problem. They solution each time was to reformat the phone and have me re-install the apps & data.

I may have unluckily ended up with a bad handset but a quick search on the internet and on this forum will show many people have the same issue.

Tried  2 networks.  The phone is dual sim and both SIM cards have the same issue. I have just ried the SIMs in a borrows Galaxy flip phone and the Singnal strength is as normal as in my old Huawei phone.

Do you have a 5g sim?

Also if you do have 5g and the signal is bad try turning off 5g and just use 4g and see if that helps.

You could also try resetting just your network settings.

Also if you have WiFi calling , volte options could try those bit ON or OFF

Different country but the same problem. I'm in Saudi Arabia

- replaced the plastic sim twice (even though plastic sim works fine in other phones)

- changed from plastic sim to e-sim

- network customer service advice is to replace sim or buy a new phone as they confirmed twice that there is no signal issue from there side

- did all the possible work arounds that I can do (from the internet)

- local Samsung checked the software and hardware and says that there is no issue

Despite all the above, I lose (total loss) signal whenever I come into places that are covered with WiFi. I lose (total loss) signal even in open spaces within the metro city. Riyadh is one of the most advanced places in terms of 4G and 5G coverage, but I just really have total signal loss in my home, in my workplace, and in many areas in the metro city.
