S24U Camera Improvement

I don't feel much about camera improvement on the latest update. Too bad. 

- Night time - Processing still not consistent. Sometimes, it gets too bright even not activating night mode. 

- Changing lens like 1x 3x 5x, colors also changed. Specially when using the 50MP. It's kinda weird, most of the time specially low light, colors are different when changing the lens, sometimes too bright. 

- Video also struggles during low light condition. Sometimes its too bright with lack of contrast just like when capturing photos. 

- Tried to use expert raw using 50MP, the color of my cat almost blend with the background color, it's too weird. The phone struggles to identify subject to background if the color is quite almost near, like background is cream and my cat is brown/golden. 😅

But for users, I guess the most noticeable concerns are exposure, contrast, and color inconsistency when changing different lens.

I can confirm that I have experienced that.

The RAW is not really a proper raw. Its something in a dng container. Using other camera apps actually produces better file output than Samsung app. So the hardware is definitely capable, but Samsung did something to bork it up. And I specifically got the phone for the camera, not so much for the mostly gimmicky AI things.

And also the same, I came from S21 Ultra Phantom Black. Currently using S24U 512 Titanium Black

• Raw support still not existent (no dynamic range advantage compared to the jpg)
• no autofocus update (object tracking in 50MP, or even eye tracking for animal and humans) no wonder it did not focus your cat, there is only human faces or manual tap to focus with 50MP
• no shutter speed limit for moving subjects (Sport Mode in Auto)
• no 24MP mode in stock mode
• still no 24MP with the 5x in ExpertRaw
• still can't take 50MP shots in Auto with Adaptive Pixel off
• still wrong resolution settings on all lenses but the 1x

And you start to wonder, what the heck are those guys at Samsung doing?!?! Are there no photographers there to smack their thick skulls and get things done?

100% correct! I hope they fix this kind of issue, 2024 Flasghip phone doesnt feel so flagship at all. You can just felt it because of the price. 🤣

I also wonder the what happened with Samsung team. Let's hope there will be next update this March fixing camera problems. At first. I wasnt expecting too much because its the first software release, but after the 1st major update as they call it, I was a little bit disappointed. 😅
