Wifi next to useless . 

Despite forgetting network  etc and on numerous wifi networks the connections sticks nothing works via wifi  and only way to use data is via cellular. Obvisously tried the obvious &  forget re join stuff no difference .

Pretty poop experience thus far where's me pixel!

There are alot of wifi settings. My phone was not connecting automatically because I didn't chose that setting. I couldn't find it in the 1st couple of days tbh. Search WiFi in the settings search bar and you will find alot of settings. Check out if you got the optimal settings for your WiFi connecting. Good luck.

its not that's its not connecting to wifi it does but regardless what wifi network i join apps wont update etc if i turn wifi they work.  if i join a wifi network they wont.

Hmmm idk if you tried clearing the partition cache, resetting the phone, all that stuff. Also try to send a feedback to Samsung on the help page.

Hi @Members_Fuj9pQA  Have you also  tried the following steps:

Go to Settings - Connections - Wi-Fi - Tap the cog next to your router - view More - select the MAC Address Type and set this to Phone MAC. If the issue persists, I would suggest pressing the Volume Down and Power buttons together for around 10 seconds until the phone restarts, the reason being that this will refresh the software and address any issues that might be causing problems. Could also change private DNS from None or Host to Automatic.  An idea to Reboot the Router (via unplugging for 30 seconds) if the issue is not solved.

No problems with my wifi has been fantastic. I work in IT and actually use my phone to test wireless networks at work fantastic tech and the battery is also fantastic can be spending the whole day on my phone testing wifi networks responding to emails and still have about 35-40% after 17:00.
