I am frustrated, over the last couple of days, I seem to have my email app running in the background every time I switch on the WiFi, I have stopped notifications, force stopped it, re booted the phone and it still keeps happening 😳. Any ideas of what to do?

It's likely to be the Samsung Email app. It's a known bug.

Go into settings/battery/background usage. See if your email.app is in "Never Sleeping Auto Apps. If so, remove it.
