I've just recently bought an S24 Ultra. I made the move from Iphone and so I'm new to android and samsung. I have just realised that I don't seem to be able to send a long text message with the samsung message app? With 1 emoji added the most characters it will let me have is 201 and then it tells me "maximum character limit reached" with no emojis the most characters it let's me use is 458 before it gives me the same message about character limits.

Is this normal? And is it fixable as I can't seem to find anything in the settings to sort it. This just seems like a totally out of date issue to have in 2024?

Limit in UK is 612. Probably varies from country to country or provider. Luckily not using sms

You should beable to send longer texts however this can then change this from a normal text to a mms text which some networks charge for.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

It's so annoying and dated. Mine seems to be allowing less and less characters but I don't want to be forced to use Google msg, especially when I tried it the other day and it failed to send lol
