My phone won't turn off as I need to put my password in which I have forgot so am locked out of my phone. Please help. I am unable to factory reset

Contact Samsung support. They might be able to help assuming you have proof of purchase/ownership

Press and hold the Volume Up, Power, and Home buttons until the Samsung logo appears. Once in Recovery Mode, use the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select. Step 2: Go to the Wipe data/factory reset option using the volume buttons and select it with the power button.

I rang Samsung customer support and they were very helpful. As I have a new phone I was able to factory reset it
