I got my new S24 normal (no plus or ultra) the other day. Tried to take a photo of an electrical part today in normal daylight and thought I couldn't see properly. The camera focuses strangely, so I wasn't able to take a sharp picture as it only focuses on certain areas as if it was a protrait or something. I took out my old iPhone 12 Mini for comparison and the photos look a lot better than the new ones from the S24. What's wrong with that? I haven't installed Camera Assistand or whatever it's called, and I haven't done much in the settings except for activating the grid and geotagging.
Here are the comparison pictures:
Here at the bottom right you can see that nothing is legible at all, as the focus is somehow in the middle
Here the same with iphone 12 mini and even sent to the computer via whatsapp
Here is one from far away with s24
Here is the top banger s24
and here the same with the iphone 12 mini, you can see how detailed the whole thing is and even though I sent it to the computer with whatsapp
That can't be normal, can it?
The main thing is more AI, right? 😃 OMG the photos are so garbage when I look at them on the big screen
Greetings

The more I read, the more I read about the Banana Gate effect and there are so many devices affected that Samsung is doing sh*** to fix it.
And there is more...
If a Samsung employee reads this (which I hope with this forum) I can complain about my device, the device is only a few days old?
It probably won't do any good anyway and I, as the customer, will once again be the looser...

Ever since the last couple of phones it's been like this where it focuses only in a specific area. When I try to get an up close photo of like text or something like the center will be focused and then the outside areas will be unfocused.
From what I'm aware of this has to do with the bigger sensor inside the phone then the pervious ones which sucks that that screws up with focusing the whole picture.

The answer is simple: the main ISOCELL 50MP GN3 camera sensor is garbage and is clearly inferior to the Sony IMX sensors. No amount of image processing improvement is going to fix this optical deficiency.

I agree with the issues with image quality.
Just bought an S24 a month back, that I will be returning now.
Never before have I ever seen so grainy images with with a Samsung. Always been a Samsung Galaxy user/fan for the past decade.
Samsung, are you listening?

Yeah, these issues speeks volume about Samsung camera « improvements ».
I'm really concerned since few months and i'm about to leave the Samsung community that i'm part of for many years. Something went wrong after the 21th séries.
If someone in the Samsung team read this, beside the case described here, it would have been great to be able to really chose the lens to shoot with when it comes to the 220mm X10.
I spent +1000€ on a frustrating not-so-smart-phone when it comes to take pictures.

This is still an issue now. I am very frustrated £1000 and it can't even correct its lens distortion like Samsung phones could 10 years ago.
