My S24 keeps restarting automatically.

I have seen others with this same issue.

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK Community Forum

How often is this happening please?

There is an auto restart setting in settings, have you activated this at all?

It is intermittent.  Sometimes it's a couple weeks, sometimes it is a couple days.

The auto-restart is toggled off and I have never adjusted it.

Hi @Teepoh Some restarts can be caused by conflicts with 3rd party apps. If you start in Safe Mode and problem does not exist this could pinpoint recent third party apps /themes creating the problem. https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/
otherwise clearing the cache partition can help in this mater as temporary cache files can be outmoded or in some cases corrupted.
Follow these steps:
1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer , other Device or TV USB, Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

That as a cop out answer. This has not happened on previous samgung devices with the same apps.

Something is falling over in the back end or there is a hardware fault in s24 models

I saw this behaviour with an old phone, when I deleted large files the problem stopped, see if you have a phone manager of some sort, that will help you find large files in order to delete them. My old phone didn't have a password set, so this rebooting over and over would continued until the battery died. Be sure to set a password which will stop the cycle from endlessly repeating.

Hello @Teepoh and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.  👋

I haven't experienced this issue on my Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra, which is on the newest software and security patch version ,so this may not be software related.

Do try clearing the phone's System Partition Cache Files Section, as suggested by @JAMES4578 👍.

And maybe also try Safe Mode.

Safe Mode explained  > Safe Mode  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict. Alternatively long press the power off button and then long hold on Turn Off to get to Safe Mode.

If you perform a forum search you should find existing threads with some further help within.

There is also a diagnostic tool found in your Samsung Members App.

A last resort is to back up and factory reset but then do not use the back up to set the phone up , as the back up maybe corrupted. Instead set the phone up manually.

Do not use SmartSwitch as occasionally some people have raised concerns that setting up the phone this way has caused glitches.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Appreciate the frustration but I suggest you try the Troubleshooting/Diagnostics mentioned and if no avail send an Error Report via Samsung Members -Support-Get Help-Error Reports. Be sure to include the system logs. You may need to Contact Samsung Support https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/contact/
